I do remember those revolving doors at supermarkets including at Tesco and Morrisons before they got replaced. I used to go round them a lot then got told off by my mum. Still I would like to go to Barcelona as it’s such an incredible city. You should do Madrid. 😊

That was brilliant G. I loved every second and it looks like you did too. The metro in Barcelona looks stunning as does the architecture. Barcelona is Catalan speaking so... Quan ets al Mercat Nou et poses les calces al cap, et poses les calces al cap, I tu crides:- Picats esponjosos!!

I've only ever been to Barcelona once and that was on a school trip in 1966. It shows how times have changed because the reason for our visit was to attend a performance at the bull ring. Can you imagine the furore if a school did that now?
@AdriaOliSal
@AdriaOliSal 3 ай бұрын
Thankfully, bull fighting has been banned in Catalonia since 2010 so it would not be possible anyway! (In the rest of spain it's still legal though)

Many of the signs on the metro etc in Barcelona are in Catalan. not Spanish. For example "Mercat" is Catalan for market - the Spanish being "Mercado." Hope that clears things up! any thanks for a great vlog.

Hello! From the Airport you could have taken the Aerobus straight to Pg de Gracia for 6 euros lol, but then again the vlog is GLovesTrains and not GLovesBuses hahaha. Mercat Nou... hmm sketchy area. Valcarca, from the bridge in the background, you could have walked a bit and get to Parc Güell, nice park (but you have to pay to get in) Nice to catch the new Metro trains in Barcelona, I have yet to see them, I rarely use the metro around here. Hope you had a lovely time in Barcelona. :)
@AL5520
@AL5520 3 ай бұрын
The Aerobús is 7.25€ now and for that I would have taken the train that stops at Passeig de Gràcia, and certainly not the metro that takes too long but the idea is to use the metro. What horrified me was gettingbthe tiurist trap 2 days card instead of the cheaper T-día.

In the 80s you could get off the train and have a drink at the bar on the station platform. Usually a glass of vino tinto, or in my case a carajio (coffee and Spanish brandy) or a "copa de hombres" The "thing of men" while smoking a Ducados. You would definitely be spinning araound ! Times have changed ! Ha ha. Bon Dia ! Absorb the wonders of Gaudi s surreal architecture. He was a genius !

I'd have got the train not the metro from the airport especially as you hit PdG on first spin haha and avoid the metro to/from airport as you can then buy a T-Casual for 12 euros (not valid to airport via the metro)

I wish it was exaggerated friend, unfortunately Barcelona is the second worst city for robberies in Europe Belgium takes No1 spot. 50% of prison inmates in Catalonia are foreign...
@T--kf6gs
@T--kf6gs 6 ай бұрын
@tobysamuelson2674 The majority of those robberies are non-violent (think pickpocketing a phone from a back pocket), although that is still shameful. General alertness such as keeping your belongings close to you and not using the back-pocket is enough for you not to have to worry. I do hope they fix this problem soon though.. Anyway, have a nice day.
