It was overpowered by Lilo and Stitch unfortunately, which I think was released earlier that year. They were also working on a sequel but it was eventually scrapped (story premise seemed good but we all know how most Disney sequels are lol). Treasure Planet definitely deserved a lot more.

Treasure Planet is still one of my favorite movies. I introduced it to my daughter who's 2 years old a few months back, she loved it so much that it's all she wanted to watch for a while. I was happy, she kept asking for "Jim" before she finally started to calling it "Treasure Planet." Even years of not watching the movie, this song has been with me.

I haven't seen Treasure Planet in a very very long time and I had no idea about this song, shows what I know about being a giant Disnerd. Regardless, I loved it (okay I say it for all of your covers but I mean it). Maybe you'll cover On My Way from Brother Bear or something from Prince of Egypt or a certain song about kissing sung by a Jamaican crab, idk its not that good. I’m really glad you had a blast with Nate at Mississippi, I certainly had a blast watching all the awesome videos you put out while you were there, even if not all of them did super well in terms of views I loved all of them, and still hope you do more of them another day when u get the time😃 those videos did seem to start a trend for me being away from internet every time you posted so I didn’t get to hear them till later tho, even this one I was away from internet for less than 24 hours and you managed to post a video in that amount of time so I couldn’t see it straight away😂 part of me wants to never leave internet again so I don’t miss a video but the other part of me wants to go away every week if it means I come back to a new video from you lol😂

This was such a great movie and a great song. So sad but soooo goood! DDR: - never held a sugar glider but I hear they are cute. - A plane? Bit ambitious there. Knew a friend back east that had 3, several runways like one on the beach, and invited people for free rides. Never got to go though... now I made myself sad. - Awwwhhhh!!! Cute monkeeeys!! - fun life accomplishment. I am now immortalized in Jyc Row's descriptiom for his song Onward after I transcribed the lyrics. I get Amola (?) Steele is a great singer but it took 6 months to decipher her poor diction.

It makes me so happy to know that other people treasure (no pun intended) this film like I do. It represented so much to me as a child and helped me become the person I am today. I felt like Jim in so many ways, a social outcast and feeling like all I did was let people down, just craving to be a someone and something. I used to watch this film with my dad when I was younger, it was his favourite film, he ended his life when I was 7 and I just related to Jim more and more every time I watched it. This song will always be precious to me. Thank you for this Gabriel. It’s a cracking cover and you do the original justice. I think you’d really pull off other Goo Goo Dolls songs too.

The movie, the characters, soundtrack, concept, and design were ahead of its time. It's probably why Disney swept it under the rug and hope we all forget about it. The early 2000s had great 2D animated movies that when I look at them today, I awfully miss this style of animation. Don't get me wrong 3D animation is great too, but I've always felt more at home with classic drawn visuals. I guess it's because I was born at the turning of a new era and watched things change in the blink of an eye. Great cover Black Gryph0n!!
