I feel the same way, Crowley would never give up on a good fight, he was always trying to cheat death and all of sudden he kills himself. His character was evolving so much, I think not only Crowley but Mark too deserved better, it was unfair to all of us :(

Marop Craft I'm not saying don't love the character because I do too but ultimately Crowley had done too much stuff to them for them to just Live and Let Live. Not to mention it was proven time and time again that a demon can't really change and they learned the hard way. The fact is the only reason they were willing to deal with Crowley cuz as bad as he is anyone else would be a whole lot worse and he at least was cooperative for Mutual business purposes as he would say. The fact is the only way they were going to trust him is if he took the Cure and became human again. Remember demons are nothing more than human Souls tortured endlessly in hell until it's nothing more than ugly putrid versions of their former selves. Whatever affection Crowley may have had for the Winchesters and Castiel that doesn't mean that he wouldn't screw them over in a heartbeat if it meant it benefit him in some way. The real fact is he sacrificed himself not so much to save the boys though but to screw over Lucifer because he hated him so much. Again having said all this that doesn't mean I don't love the character and he will be missed but let's not kid ourselves he was never going to be one of the Winchesters

OMG, Crowley was one of my favorite demons, right before Meg! :( He can't die by committing suicide, can he?? Honestly, I asume he is one of the last charakters who would kill themselves... He's THE King of hell in my opinion, not even Lucifer could destroy Crowley... And Lucifer is a fallen angel, satan himself... Why? Why did the writers let Crowley die, furthermore by killing himself??? :'( I guess Crowley would have been a charakter with so much potential to developing even further. Maybe he'd become one of the best friends for Sam and Dean? I mean, Crowley is evil, but he also has a softer side, when he said, that he also want's to be loved! :'( This scene made me cry so hard... :'( He and also the talented actor, Mark Sheppard, really deserve better... :'( Without Mark, Supernatural won't be the same... "Hello boys!", for instance, in the way, Mark said it, will never get out of my mind... :( His sarcastic words on the one hand made me laugh, but also love him!

He was beought back from the empty, or had a spell bring him back, but as a human soul still with his knowledge of magic, or some high up power decided he should go to heaven and help out bobby, or he also annoyed the empty, or he faked his death, or maybe his death scene never happened in the first place and that was one of the first times that Asmodeus used Gabriel's powers to rework the world so he could hide crowley somewhere because of something he knows. Something. anything. To the fanfiction sites i go to write. And in my mind its all canon but the fact that he killed himself instead of some other random civilian, or even demon.
