Come on San Remo, give this guy some parts! interesting series

Ah, those guys have been amazing to me over the years... This thing is just too expensive to play with... plus, not having the cafe anymore... it would only collect dust anyway.

My dude !! I couldn’t relate more.... Purchased my own opera v1 second hand 3 years ago with the intention of opening my high end cafe. The dream never happened as i got a secure job with a roaster and due to my unborn child back then it was the right decision (no regrets). That machine is still currently is sitting in my garage after I completely refurbished it to run to perfection. I literally just emptied the boilers to get it ready for winter lol. Now it's just a reminder of an old dream offering the most refined espressos as I don't want to sell it for a ridiculously low price. Sad to see that they never took off and depreciate so badly. Maybe the coffee world just wasn't ready for when they came out and one day they will be appreciated for what they truly are. Appreciate your videos and commitment and how much you value this amazing piece of equipment.

Sounds like a great machine mate thanks for breaking it down for us, really special tech. A real shame about the machine. Surely you have a case with whatever technician? Especially if you had to pay an invoice for a broken machine.. Keen for the series mate. Beautiful idea 👌

Thanks dude. I had already spent a decent amount of time, energy & money to get the problems resolved... but I'd rather put my mind towards better things in life. 🙏

Cool machine, in terms of functionality. But it’s definitely not the simple workhorse of a LM linea

Yes, this is definitely the other side of the spectrum... F1 cars are great... but definitely not the correct vehicle to use as an Uber. 😉

not a thing wrong with repurposing. can't wait to see it.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with those machines. You know some of my history with coffee. What is it about the coffee industry that gets to you so much when crossed by those you have misplaced your trust? Graeme and his two mates that stole the database and set own website still gets me fuming, and that’s after 20 years, If I think about it to much I start wishing the one w⚓️ with the Lyme Disease is having a fun old time ….. and I am trying to be better than that. If they had stolen the database 6 months later I would have had them charged. lol it seems I have to work in my forgiveness… 🤨 I am just having a ball getting back into it. There are a bunch of new coffee toys to play with which are fun and I am getting better coffees out of my faulty Oracle than I did from the cafe I got the coffee from which is also good. I like to encourage good baristas when I find them as they are worth their weight in gold. I always make a point of thanking them. 😊

Thanks mate. Yes, there are definitely a few snakes in the grass so to speak... fortunately I don't let that stuff get under my skin & I learn from it. Also, that behaviour has pushed me into learning how to fix these things for myself... which has developed my skills beyond the potato that ruined this machine. Proper baristas are 1 in a million... unfortunately, old habits are still hanging around.

@@mitchdoescoffee yeah I have learnt a HEAP pulling that Oracle to bits. I will probably fix it. The rest is in to good of a condition to throw it away. ATM I am going to disconnect the faulty boiler so it doesn’t trip the safety switch and then just use it as a single dose grinder and use my son’s Oracle.

@PubRunner ah I see. I do have spare boilers here, but I wouldn't guarantee they wouldn't have issues also. 😵💫
@PubRunner3 ай бұрын
@@mitchdoescoffee it seems I was mistaken I disconnected all the boilers after it was hot and the steam boiler has a low resistance to ground. That looks like a much more involved job. Tho there are how to videos on YT.
