Best wishes for a quick recovery, Bruce. Yes music is calming, exciting, invigorating and all the good stuff. Don't give up on it, ever. While there is absolutely no proof of this, one of my friends, now 80, claims that ballroom dancing and big band music was a major factor in her recovery from cancer. As she put it: "I just danced it off".

Courage. There have been some interesting studies concerning music and healing. Particularly the music of Mozart and Bach. You may want to investigate further. Best wishes.

Geez, Bruce! Hope you are in good medical hands to help you out of the cancer! Hopefully, they talk of diet (reducing sugar), and, as you say, using music as therapy! Totally agree with you on that. I found that it is therapeutic when in any physical discomfort. And it can even enhance mental acuity. When I was a student years ago, slow instumental music actually helped me to concentrate. My focus was sharper. (Call me weird, maybe, others want silence). Hope your treatments go really well, good day, and happy listening! 😊👍🎶🎶🎶🎶

Seek out those things that will increase your own expectation of getting better. The psyche plays into physical health more than most think. I sleep on green noise, indigenous people chants and bi neural beats.

I'll be praying for you Bruce. My brother was a lifelong smoker and heavy drinker and he died in August of throat cancer. My son had kidney cancer and he has never done either. He is fully recovered. So it can happen to anybody. Stay strong Bruce, and God bless you!

My grandfather quit smoking the moment I was born. What a character. (I am not sure I would be able to do that for anybody)

This may be off base, but for decades I've always thought that it was interesting that many famous conductors of orchestras tend to live a very long time and are mentally healthy through lives, and I've often wondered could it be the complicated music that they live by and work with on a daily basis. Is there a connection I don't know, but I would like to think there is.
