Purchased this two days ago and I am shocked at how beautiful it sounds! No matter what I play or where I place it in my chain it’s just magical! Worth every penny…🎼🎼🎼

What a beautiful and lush sound that produces. I am so impressed my Origin pedals, they are on the top shelf of sound where not many others reside. Just received my Cali76 Stacked edition, and like all their stuff it is the cat's meow

Billy Gibbons bought Magnatone and they are in production. Definitely worth checking out. Awesome tones in this pedal too!

Those contemporary Magnatones are different beasts altogether compared to the OGs though. A 50's Magnatone is tonal heaven - think Robert Ward in the 50s, 60s or indeed during his brief Blacktop records revival in the 1980s.

Beautiful sounding pedal. What I like is that there is a LOT less gain than on the Revival Trem. Here you seem to be able to get a little grit and EQ and the full effect of the vibrato while keeping your amp clean-ish (on a Deluxe Reverb set on 3 or 4). It is way more complicated to keep your amp "clean" with the Revival Trem engaged.

Good grief - the tones out of that strat, with almost no drive on the pedal just sound fabulous!

Sounds real good. I have a Magnatone Stereo 280, c. 1958, with their vibrato circuit. The pedal’s vibrato is in the same ballpark for sure. The 180° setting sounds a lot like bridging the 280’s channels, which are out of phase with each other. The pedal breaks up more than the amp, though, which is pretty clean ‘til the volume is cranked.

The more you push the tone control the more breakup you'll get from the pedal. Unique feature of how the tone is setup in both the Magma57 and the Magnatone amps. There's a lot of interaction between the two controls. It'll never go full Marshall but it will bite a lil more.

Old Maggies have a stronger, more direct sound than Fenders. They are truly ' high fidelity' - tons of tubes in those amplifiers. This pedal and the new amps do sound different from the originals, but lots of good sounds either way!

Is that like Drivin N Cryin?
@AATTYYRR4 жыл бұрын
In the post drive eq, how does the preamp mode sound going direct in into an interface? Like using the amp in a box pedal as kind of an amp sim pedal? I guess I'm curious on how this would work in lieu of an actual amp for home recording, with a load of pedals in front?
@The_Penny_Seventeens3 жыл бұрын
A little different but still amazing it’s the best pedal I have ever played I love it and I only play and record through Apollo interface with the walrus Amp cab sim…

Sitting here playing my 59 magnatone 213 and that vibe doesn’t quite sound like it. I also owned the later 440 and not much like this pedal either. The two pedals that actually get in the ball park to me are the jhs emperor and the omicron. The mags I’ve owned sounded more like you were slowly using a bigsby, less pulse to them.
@daviddorrian53492 жыл бұрын
Can someone explain this pedal to me. To me it sounds exactly like harmonic tremolo which is an effect I absolutely love. It sounds nothing like the effect I hate, which is what it's labeled as vibrato. I've had vibrato in chorus pedals and tremolo pedals before and it was horrible and nothing like the lush harmonic tremolo sound of this.

I'm curious if this will fight over the Neo mini VENT II or compliment each other. Since I don't have the money (for now) to have an Origin Effects pedal, can you make a video about it? That'd be awesome!!! By the way, I'm that shorty Mexican you met at NAMM 2020 late night hahaha
@rjackets14 жыл бұрын
OD sounds not so good to me, not smooth like the other Origin stuff. Higher gain sounds good, but edge of breakup sounds are kind of harsh. The Vibe is pretty good, i'm just surprised they didn't go for a smoother OD sound. If you listen you can hear it almost sounds like a crackle here and there, like it's clipping a preamp on an interface (which it isn't, it's the pedal). The Revival Trem OD sounds way better to me.... and why didn't you run some humbuckers through it for comparison? It would be good to hear what higher gain pickups do.

Once you play any of the Origin Effects pedals, everything else sounds like a toy in comparison. They are worth every penny, but if you can't afford it, that's fine, too.
