The lack of SBMM means I can work to improve again instead of playing the same individuals on the same maps over and over again.

62 myself and I'm hovering around the basement lmao but one thing I have always excelled at is close quarter fights and I love the game for that. The old reflexes aren't what they used to be but I am still enjoying a break from Apex. The eyes can see people in X, not so much in Apex although I have been on there since day 1 and know the maps inside and out.

I love having to ACTUALLY get good in FPS games. With SBMM, getting good doesn't feel like a reward at all. It's like ranked without the ranks and all the rewards, instead you win a few games and get put up against an esports 6-man team on their off-day. It's like he said though, you feel like you can learn things from losing. I remember watching killcams to figure out what went wrong and using copycat to see what guns people were using.

The being shot behind walls reminds me of peer to peer servers on mw2, it's really really bad. That and the spam jumping mid combat is so goofy, they need to add an accuracy penalty to that. With keyboard and mouse I feel like these issues are far worse as well. Agree on the minimap, I think it should just show the entire map so you can see an overview of where the action is. Other than that, I'm thinking as the maps are so small, the snipers should have the option for smaller scopes or even iron sights as a default option. Oh yeah and the hipfire is absolutely awful.

So, I was using the SCAR 20 earlier (forgot the name of the DMR), and I realized the red dot is not centered, yet the gun shoots centered. It's actually offset to the left a tiny bit, and it sways in that general area. I only noticed this because I was using the gun at range and felt like some shots weren't hitting, so I turned on my monitor's dot crosshair. I did some testing in match and in the practice range, and it most definitely causes some issues. The gun always shoots where my crosshair is, but not the red dot. I think this might contribute a bit to the hitreg problem people perceive exists. It's really noticeable at range, but sometimes doesn't matter as much up close.

The reason people have such an issue with sbmm is because it doesn’t really give you an incentive of getting better most of the time people stay average playing people your skill level. But when you take out the sbmm it gives people a chance to play better people and think of new ways to play and actually get better to try and get closer to the higher scorers than not

@@trinityastial5161 I know. But looking at it from a publisher's point of view, if players get stomped or aren't having fun, they're less likely to stay on the game, which means less money spent on the game. Imo, modern day SBMM is really about money and player retention above all else.

6:40. Respectfully, there absolutely are issues with hit registration. If you notice getting killed around or through walls, it's server desync which also contributes toward missing hit reg. They go hand in hand. It's literally an issue with the server not displaying the same things on two different end users end devices. Digressing, yes, this game a FCKING blast! I'm a little above average at CoD and have been playing it since CoD3, so to feel the strict SBMM being lifted and being put in a traditional arcade shooter again is such a breath of fresh air. I stopped being able to play CoD with my IRL friends back in BO2 when SBMM started to get tightened up from Acti. My friends aren't as good as me and it makes the experience miserable for them to play with me. I don't think XDEF is perfect by any means, I think there needs to be more goals to work towards - going on a big kill streak seems pointless since I'm not actually earing anything and the challenges don't feel fulfilling to complete since all I'm getting is character skins that I don't particularly care for. As far as the map pool goes, I enjoy it, but I definitely prefer the old school 3 lane system from CoD. Overall, I'd give XDEF a 7-7.5/10. Which is about where I'd put any recent CoD. I don't think there's a clear-cut winner between the matchup of CoD vs XDEF because while they both compete in the same market, they feel entirely different and unique. There are some things that CoD still does better and some things the XDEF does better.

I think where you're confusing the hit detection with is the hit registration. The hit detection actually works. It's the hit registration that's pretty screwed up right now. And with Snipers not having any reasonable flinch, it breaks the balancing of the game in half. Too many times I'll unload a whole mag into a person and they still somehow manage to one shot me. It's beyond toxic.

I honestly agree about the minimap being way too zoomed in. I don't really agree with jump strafing being nerfed. I understand some people don't like it, but it is great movement tech when used properly, especially using it when sniping between shots. This is also used in conjunction with slide canceling to remove the god awful sprint to fire time. This game plays honestly quite a bit faster than cod as far as movement goes and idk I guess I don't want that slowed down. Like you said controller doesn't have many issues with it, and I play kbm, and I don't have an issue with it, people just need to practice and get better with their aim tbh.
