What would set this apart from something like the upcoming Fraymakers, other than the unique pixel-to-3D art (which is incredibly impressive but seems to be the only clear difference)?

Great question. The pixel-to-3D Art is only part of what sets Smack Studio apart, because the accessibility and speed at which you can create characters is just unheard of in Smack Studio. In fact, we fully expect people to use Smack Studio to make characters for Fraymakers, Rivals of Aether, and other fighting games, since you can export your creations. Our stage editor isn't done yet, but it's going to be wild also. Our 3D environments and pixel art characters is another differentiating factor. And while we don't know the full extent of the Workshop integration in Fraymakers, it's going to be directly integrated into Smack Studio. Honestly though - I'm very excited for Fraymakers. Always a fan of Greg McLeod's work.
