What is interesting and frustrating about international games is most players have to learn to play a little bit out of position. The teams that are well structured with a tactic in mind always exceed expectations. England is full of players that are used to pressing and going forward. When you come from the likes of Manchester city, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Real Madrid, etc., you are not used to being under pressure. If a team brings it against England, none of these players are going to know how to sit back and defend.

England will NOT win the Euros! The Problem? Gareth Southgate and his passive tactics. I don't care if the guy is nice, his football is boring and uninspiring. Quarter Finals at best, last 16 at worst. He could be destroyed against Spain in the QF. He must allow the strikers to attack, to play, to be creative. But a Leopard never changes its spots. He must go!

Sadly, I agree. He's done his job and squashed all the factionalism that ruined England in the past, got them playing a a team. Now he has to move on and someone else can come in and unshackle this team. When the defence is as shaky as England's is they need to attack with some abandon. Southgate won't do that, I'm don't think he's capable of it.

I think England dont hold the ball or build up enough ply in the opposition half, they seem to struggle to look after the ball in posetion, its culture and the way these guys are trained at international level its not all about speed and power its also about looking after the ball, this leads to not controlling games. Its the same in almost every tournament

This is getting silly especially as a Chelsea fan. To keep it simple England played 4 4 1 1 when defending. In attack it was a 3 2 2 3. The problem was a right footer left back was playing left wing in offence. Tripper can’t take a player on. He can’t beat anyone for pace. Serbia didn’t allow him enough time to get the ball on his right foot to swing the ball in. Attack (general play) Walk Stones Guehi Trent Rice Bellingham Foden Saka Kane Trippier When attacking you take Kane away from his favourite 10 space because you have 2 other guys. You only have one guy willing to break the line in Saka, which is how England scored the goal. Walk through back to Saka and Bellingham header. It’s an imbalance. To have no left footer at all on the left is shameful for balance and crossing when you have Kane and Bellingham crashing the box. Solution if my voice matters. Foden should play off the bench. Alternatively, Kane should play off the bench. You need 3 line breaking players in the front 3 when playing a box midfield with 2 10’s. The quickest and best solution drop Foden for a wide speedster in Gordon. This allows Kane space to play the wingers in. Bellingham to move beyond Kane. Third option is drop Kane (never happen) put Bellingham as the 9 (like he does at Real) Foden as 10. Gordon and Saka wide with skill and speed. Lastly, Trent needs to be dropped.

We need to stop all this. It is shit. We need to stop gaslighting ourselves. It’s not tough. He’s playing players out of position. He refuses to take his mate Kane off. Gordon, Watkins, Palmer, Tony. Put a Tony or Watkins on to run after a ball that Kane can’t because he doesn’t have the legs for it. Any decent team destroys England last night. They equalize before halftime and the go up 2-1 before south gate even thinks of making a change and by then you are just being reactive and not proactive. The manger is criminal. Absolutely criminal. If England don’t win this tournament he should be tried for sedition against the crown and commonwealth

100% incorrect about holding down a 1-0 win, that is literally the opposite game plan England should be doing. This is an offensive team that needs to be attacking and running the opponent’s into the ground and should be scoring 2-3 goals a game. Southgate is literally the biggest problem for this country, he is completely incompetent from team selection to match play tactics and adjustments, e is inept. It’s not even a hard fix, a couple of minor adjustments, he is just so dense. If England could fire him now and move fwd without a manager, it might be the best thing for them vs letting this clown waste another major tournament. Hopefully the players can come together and cover up his multitude of mistakes, but if they win, it won’t have anything to do with him.
