Normal parking light. Still actually a legal requirement to use them in the UK when parked on an unlit street facing against flow of traffic. you put the side nearest the road on.

Kind of like rear fog lights everyone has them but never actually uses them apart from that one driver who always has it on when there's no fog...

The parking lights being on when the ignition is off on the side the indicator is set is a standard feature on many cars. It is to save the battery by only having the parking lights activated on the side of the car nearest traffic! Always turn off indicators when parking if you do not require parking lights.

Hi there Tom! Great video and the Rover 75 had in the past had a feature if pushed up or down indicator stalk and lights would show as a parking light 💡from memory

Hi Tom. My 75 exhaust is exactly the same as yours, but as long as it stays OUTER casing, its fine They record it as an advisory but don't fail it. Good luck and keep the 75 faith, best cars Rover ever made, Im on my second, absolutely beautiful drive 😁😁

The Rover 75 Owner's Manual details the operation of the parking lights feature of the indicator stalk (on page 106): Parking lights The near or off-side tail and side lights can be switched on independently for parking purposes, as follows: With the starter switch turned off, move the direction indicator lever fully DOWN to switch on the left hand parking lights. Move the direction indicator lever fully UP to illuminate the right hand parking lights. To cancel the parking lights, return the direction indicator lever to the off position. ;)

Here in Oz, mine went through a giant hail storm. Still trying to pull out one by one so don't worry too much about minor paint. Love the serpents. Enjoying the journey.

Hi mate, love your Rover 75. I had stainless steel exhaust made whilst I waited near Birmingham MiJ exhausts. I had one up from a standard cat back exhaust system with sports cat. Although I regreted getting larger stainless steel mufflers and any noisy exhaust note. It still bosses MOTs with is this new, 5 years later. All normal mild steel exhaust system section replacements were short lived 2 years max. Good luck leave them to do their stuff. Cheers

Its a German thing. All VAG, BMW, Mercedes, Opel and Vauxhall stuff does the same thing with the indicator / front and rear sidelamps. Owing to the R40 being reilant on BMW coponentry for the CanBus wiring, these have the parking lamp function too - hope that helps

What a total banker hitting the 75, if it was a big car they might not of felt it. Tom, think exhaust might let you down on the MOT sadly, she sill a gorgeous 75 though.

My car dose that to , the light stays on after you park it. I used to have a VW Polo that had a light staying on if the indicator was left on. One of those first videos you done on the 75 made me want one again. I got myself a 2.5 V6 a few weeks after watching it. Then I bought another one the next again year a 2 liter CDT. For about a month I had two 75' s before I sold my 2.5 V6. They are both moonstone green. I've had my other one for nearly two years now.

Fingers Crossed it passes, I have my MOT on the 2nd of December for the 25 and i guarantee it wont pass as the exhaust is blowing lol.

As far as the exhaust is concerned get a stainless cat back one made you won't ever need another one. All xxxxxx you will have to replace ocasionly is the support rubbers. Had my stainless exhaust for over 12 years I've owned the car for 18 years and only replaced the rubbers twice

I first came across the parking light feature on a Cortina. I can't remember if it was a Mk3 or a Mk4. Also, I have a vague recollection of a Mk1 Mondeo, where you turned the headlamp switch to the left for parking lights. ISTR it put all the sidelights on, but without the dash lights.

Indicator on either side are your parking lights… many other cars do that, but yea a great feature.

You got your indicator on when the ignition is off, it’s called a parking light

its a parking light for dark roads - nearly all cars in the last 40 years do that when the indicators are on and the ignition is turn off

Fogging of headlight, check the cover is in place in the back of the light and the wheel arch. Nearly a month without my 75 now as gone to a vectra and miss the 75 so much.

I had 5 MOTs untill now , and every year there was / were issues . Rusty suspensionarms in the rear replaced , tyres on the limit , rusty brakelines in the rear replaced . Dispite that stuff , I still got my Cowley built 2000 Connoseur , rocksolid body and running like new . I guess as an owner of such a classy car you have to accept that they are not cheap to maintain , otherwise buy an old Micra or Fiesta . Good luck with yours !

comment for the love and for the algorithm. She will pass. lovely motor, clean up backbox with alu tape if it bothers you. As for the bump "Wank3rs!" get a dashcam front and rear with parking mode and perhaps a very small sublte sticker (EDIT to show you have a camera to keep people honest). Keep the faith. love the channel, content and your motors

If you leave an indicator up or down it works as a parking light

Someone has really given that a good shunt in the back, arseholes are everywhere I'm forever discovering new dents in the side of my cars from people smashing their doors into them.

I’m getting a bit tired of it to be honest, part of me thinks fix it keep it as an as and when and get a Mondeo but I’d still have the same issue with that, people have no respect sadly

I was toying with the idea of getting the paint and bodywork properly sorted on my 11 yr old car, which I intend to keep. But I know that as soon as it is done, some clown will scratch or ding it, so I’m not going to bother!
