In my opinion it is a lot more difficult to make a timeless design while also evolving it year after year. Then you have designers and engineers who over stylize a car and makes that model the black sheep in the generational line up of that model. Acura duck nose in the 2010's for example

Sure, it’s 900lbs more than a MX-5, however you’re sacrificing a lot there though. But even comparing the 911 to a smaller sports car such as the Supra, the weight is identical.

The hybrid system is a pretty major internal difference. The electric motors and electric turbocharger mean instant torque, faster acceleration and better fuel economy. It does increase the risks associated with fires, though.

@@enveloreal In what way? Gas cars catch on fire far more often than hybrids/EVs. Gasoline is incredibly volatile, while battery packs are pretty easy to insulate. Not saying there's zero risk, but it's pretty minimal compared to the benefits of having such a system onboard.

Porsche/Audi are literally the ones that made F1 agree to drop the MGU-H for the 2026 regs. The VW board were the only serious candidate not already on the grid, and they refused to commit to the 2026 regulations if it meant developing an MGU-H (vs competitors that had a decades experience building and racing them tbf)

@@Overmotor is it really? a key is a bulky item to have on your pocket as you drive so its getting out anyway, its just one move away from being inserted into the keyhole. And lets not forget that even Porsche themselves stated (when configuring the last gen 911) that, despite being state of the art equipment, keyless systems will never be as secure and theft proof as a normal key and safety is something extremely important in a car that expensive

But maybe that's because most People here take better Care of their Car than they do in the USA. Same is true for BMW, somehow they're some of the most reliable Cars in European Countries, meanwhile in the USA etc. where People barely stick to proper Maintenance and regular Oil Changes, they end up not reliable, but of course they then blame the Car instead of them being too lazy to stick to the proper Maintenance intervalls. Either way, if what you claim is true, tough Luck, can't blame you

@@chartreux1532 Two things. 1) I'm not in the USA (UK here) and 2) Where are you getting your data from? Porsche is the 2nd least reliable car brand in the UK, only Land Rover (inc Range Rover) are worse. Even Alfa Romeo and Fiat are more reliable. And in 2022 Porsche was the least reliable brand.

@Gregsheppo66 to a degree, porsche in the 60s, 70s was sick on similar designs. They needed something to really help the company. Well in the 80s came the amazing 958. In the modern era is the gt rs. Porsche can make amazing cars and has made them. But this 911 is basically like the other 911s of this era with some acute differences. I feel like porsche sticks to the same for sales amd once in a while it brings the wildness of their designs. Lole the 958, the carrera gt, and even the gtrs

The previous generation car was a 911 Carrera GTS (green) - which was not the fastest production model 911. That honor belonged to the 911 Turbo-S, which may still be faster than this new 911 Carrera GTS-Hybrid.

I really don't like how the rear of the new one looks It's just a slight difference in tail lights but the old one still looks a lot better even if it is just a minor difference It's just my opinion Their previous generation looked so good that even if they kept that design for few more years, I would still be happy 😁 But not gonna lie This new generation still looks really nice but not just not as good as the previous one.

I respect your opinion but I mean, this is probably the most conservative design changes of any major car brand. Come on, come on compared to a new BMW or Mercedes I think they've kept the soul of the brand a lot more. I understand and love that analog feeling too but there are limitations and progress has to be made, bar keeping everything exactly the same i think this is likely the best possible way of keeping its identity while moving the brand forward

So it’s a 3.6L and not a 3L anymore that’s why it sounded different. It really sounded like a N/A car 😮

Can clearly hear the turbo. The only reason why it sounds different to normal turbo cars is because of the electric motor in the turbo acting as anti lag. However when modified you’d be throwing that in the bin

@@lukeneill1568 I don’t think the electric turbo change the tone of the sound. But having a new engine bloc and a larger displacement will change 100% the sound But maybe having a single turbo configuration vs a biturbo will also change the sound yes

By far the most wins on 24h LeMans, 2nd most 24h Nürburgring wins (but all important records on the Nürbrurgring). Porsche is just THE racetrack oriented manufacturer. Love this. They will always produce a car for the sportive driver.

Pretty much exactly what we all expected... A very slight evolution in the aesthetics while pushing things forward with the engineering and performance. It's what Porsche do! The Turbo S will be ludicrous with a 4WD hybrid system. A new performance standard.
