Also, I will forever love platonic relationships in books more than romantic ones. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I also love the love triangle! This is really interesting to me! Non-romantic soulmates has always been something I like because I am an identical twin and as far as I’m concerned, my twin sister is my soulmate and will always be like the most important person in my life. I’d love to see that acknowledged in your story!

that's something i've actually already worked into the story! at one point my character is writing a paper about platonic soulmates and she mentions that 30% of twins are soulmates! so it's good to hear from a person who's a twin that this would be realistic :)

No need to die on the hill, you are correct. Young adult does cover early 20's. :) No one said you have to contain Nanowrimo writing to Nov. I am quite sure you will be hammering away during Nov. on this one. I would say that counts as doing Nano. I am still debating if I should give it a try. Good luck on your new project! I felt the same way! Struggling with a long term CYOA I wanted to write, involving parenting (pregnancy and child rearing), but then getting bit by the soulmate bug, and wanting to do something with a theme of "colorblind soulmates" (the trope of seeing color when you meet your soulmate); I really wanted to do a web-novel troped soulmate, with the string, or the body writing, or the colorblind thing (or maybe even something unique), but I just couldn't come up with a good enough story. I'm currently nose in on my parenting story, and it's going really great, but I did get derailed with a fascination with soulmates, and almost shelved it (I snuck some "soulmate" into the plot, but it isn't as heavily themed/gimmicky as I wanted) , so I feel you on a personal level! I satisfied myself with fanfiction for the soulmate itch, and I'd love to read your story. Good luck writing!
