To be fair I feel like a lot of straight authors write straight relationships horribly. So, in my opinion, no matter what's your sexuality is and who you write about, the most important part is to treat your character and their relationship with respect and love✌️❤️

I mean, one thing is a straight author trying to write about the experience of being gay in a heteronormative world, but that's not the case here 1 - It's a fantasy world. Homophobia/heteronormativity may not even exist if the author don't want it to exist 2 - Even if it is some kind of prejudice in this culture, it's not the point of the book, the couple or the character. What I am trying to say is, she's not writing about the experience of being LGBT, she's writing a couple that happens to be lesbian. So her sexuality doesn't matter here.

Okay, I'm only halfway through the video, but the bit where you talk about continuing with the romance the same way despite changing the gender of the protagonist but not the other character... Wow. So powerful. A lot of authors today would totally change the dynamic in the relationship if they would be in the same shoes as you, but the fact that you acknowledge that gender has nothing to do with who you are as a person and how you act in a relationship... Well done Cindy, for resuming your writing projects!! Also I really wanted to reach into the phone screen and shake your hands, especially when you mentioned how every story of yours starts with a (usually straight) guy and girl gradually forming a relationship while having some type of adventure together. This is the starting point of literally every single story idea of mine too!! It always begins with the slowly blossoming relationship/bond of a potential romantic couple, although their romance is usually not the story’s main theme, and they may not even live until the end (sometimes he/she or both might just f**k up and die in a GOT red wedding style). But recently, as a straight girl myself, I’ve also been thinking about trying to write a lesbian couple because they’re so rare and also because I think it would be super fun!

I love writing and I do writing for my job, but I'm not certain I could ever do a whole novel. My dad used to joke about writing my "big novel" and a part of me wants to do it. There are always ideas floating around in my head and sometimes a line of dialogue or a random scene will pop into my head and later I'll wish I'd written it down. Anyway enough about me (ack). I wholeheartedly support your endeavor and wish you the best of luck in your journey. I have a feeling your new and improved work will be fantastic.
