@zoeylife2 That is the trick. Sometimes you get in too early and that’s what I was initially talking about. You need to weigh the probabilities of it turning around - which is probably the toughest part. The thought that I noticed that started working for me was that I could always get in later. Don’t let losses get too extended and don’t dollar cost average. Sure sometimes it works but I’ve learned that lesson too many times… it usually amounts to more severe losses. Add to your winners instead

Could someone please explain how this works? How is it possible that buying 20 contracts at a price of 918.73 USD and selling them at 948.89 USD results in a net P&L of 30,121.00 USD? The actual price change is only 3.28% from the original price, with the real profit being only about 603.2 USD. Not 30,121.00 USD as mentioned in the video (11:39). I am grateful to everyone for their responses and explanations!

This is leveraged futures trading. If the asset price change is 3% and the profit (or loss) is 30k, then the position size is 30000/0.03=1 million dollar. 1 contract is a 50k position, so 20 contracts are a million.

She entered the platinum trade at 918.73 and exited at 948.89, a price movement of 30.16 points. That's around 301.55 ticks (each tick is 0.10) per contract. With 20 contracts and a tick value of $5 per contract, the net P&L per contract is (301.55 X $5)

tradestation commissions are really low and they have different commissions for micros versus minis. You should be able to see it on their site and I think they do some sort of promotion with commissions
