That design is every Christmas gift wrapped in the 60's. The colors are perfection! FUN FACT: The red "flowers" on the poinsettia, are just leaves! The actual flowers on the plant are the tiny yellow centers.

@@maryhernandez9699 The lower leaves are green, and the upper leaves are red/white/pink... whatever variety you buy. Next time you see them, real ones, take a closer look. :) We get easily distracted by the beautiful colored leaves that look like the flowers.

That soap turned out great! And, as an animal rescue volunteer, thank you thank you THANK YOU! for including the info at the end about the danger of lilies, holly, and mistletoe. Like you said, poinsettias are mildly toxic. But lilies are deadly toxic to cats. A single leaf, petal, or even just grooming the pollen from their fur is enough to cause fatal kidney failure in a cat. And you only have 18 hours from the time of exposure to start treatment for them to have a chance of making it. I'm always shocked at how many cat owners don't know about lily toxicity. Hopefully your video (and this comment) will help to spread the word. ❤

I think the one thing you could add is a thin gold swirl. It would remind me of the gold ribbon usually around a housewarming gift of flowers.

I think this soap would definitely be worth incorporating into future collections. It is very cheerful and nostalgic looking; it definitely fits this season. I agree that making the poinsettias opaque would enhance the effect. On a side note, I saw the unmixed oil in the corners and thought that doesn't look right. Glad it was fine, and the soap turned out absolutely beautiful.💖

I love the look of this soap! It reminds me of what Christmas time was always like when I was younger. Word got out that my mom liked poinsettias, so everyone would gift her a plant and they'd be all over the house! She says we can't have real ones in the house anymore because of the cat, but he doesn't care about them at all. I think she just got tired of trying to keep up with cleaning all the dried leaves. They do make a bit of a mess, especially when you have like ten of them at once!

Hi! I'm a cosmetology student and I just watched the part about you making your custom green Christmas blend? I'm not sure if it would translate to mica colorants but in hair dye black colors are made of a majority blue. Which might be why you have some trouble getting a dark warm green with a black oxide? I might use a dark brown instead? That way it will darken while still using a warm tone palette! Hope it helps 💕💕

You are completely correct! I was going to say the same thing. I was watching the cookie challenge show and the one lady on there is an instructor and she brought all of her colorants with her, she said she never puts one color in while making her frostings. She went on to show a few of her colors and that was one of them she put brown in the green to make it warmer.

Also works in water colours emerald green plus burnt umber = nice warm dark green ( think pond colours)

Another thing you can try is mixing in red or a red orange color. Mixing complimentary colors ie across each other on the color wheel, red-green, orange yellow-blue, darkens a color

Here in Western Europe (at least in a few countries) we don't caal them poinsettia. We call them "Christmas Star" (in native languages). At least that's what is says on the signs at flowershops 'round this time of year.

I call poinsettias 'nochebuenas' since that's what they're called in Mexico where my parents are from. Sometimes it feels weird calling the plant 'poinsettia' even though I live in Texas. "Noche Buena" literally translates to "Night Good" but it means "Christmas Eve" I'm Spanish.

it's beautiful I really like the opacity in the poinsettias I think it makes it more unique. Maybe you could add a little bit of gold Lusterr dust that would mimic how they add a little glitter to them in the stores. but the colors are absolutely perfect spot on don't change anything

I've done this with Resin, but would you be able to dust mica powders on the inside of your molds, ie: The top surface of your embeds to give it a more opaque finish (plus a gradiant, were you to use a different color), or would it just mix into the melt and pour?

Absolutely beautiful! I don't usually pronounce the i at the end of poinsettia, though sometimes there is a slight y sound there instead. Poinsettias are so pretty but with cats who like to make trouble they're not something I can keep around the house. My mom loves them too, years ago she got a wreath covered in fake ones for the front door and it's still a part of our decorating to this day! And this soap is definitely one I'd love to see in future holiday lineups 💗

I don't know why I'm so excited to give you this tip, but for your linens, if they get stained, oxy-clean max force will be your best friend... it's the only thing I've found to take out most stains (even set in ones). And make sure they're COMPLETELY dry before storing them. It will help prevent mold.

Little Women 1994 is the only one that I love! The costumes, the cast, the way they weave the story. It’s truly beautiful and I squealed when you said it’s your favorite Christmas movie. Katie, PLEASE add this soap to the Christmas lineup next year! I would make the poinsettias (which we mostly pronounce as "poinsetta" in Arizona) more opaque like you mentioned, and maybe spritz the mold with gold mica before pouring the melt-and-pour to really bring out the definition of the petals! The colors are perfect and I love the swirl on top with the minimal piping. It would be great if it were scented like B&BW Bright Christmas Morning (Ripe Red Berries, Blood Orange, Crisp Apple) which is lovely and fruity, and it's the scent I thought of as soon as I saw your soap! Loving my Winter Wonderland and Sugar Plum Fairy soaps from this year's collection! Sending lots of love from Arizona! 🌡☀️🌵🧡

im loving this soap! i noticed you wanted a true white but it still appeared more cream, a trick for getting white to appear more white is to add the teeniest TINIEST bit of blue or purple to it, in nature “white” is never truly white, it’s slightly brown/yellow so by adding the color opposite to yellow on the color wheel (blue) to white you will get what appears more white than it would in nature, making it appear brighter and more white :) this also works for black appearing more black than in nature (since black also usually has a brown tint)
