Yes, I must say I came to tell you too about taking a boat.. and also about setting the tent. We love outdoors and there is plenty of space for everyone to come do it in here, but if you are in a camping spot, setting your tent right in middle of it, in front of fireplace and a table, makes it very hard for some late traveller to come and use it. Probably they would just carry on, because for most, we dont want to trouble othet hikers/travellers. And it is quite common to find unlocked stuff in the countryside, because people still trust that their things are not taken by others. Its fun to watch but unpolite thing to do without a permission and what if something would of happened. I once had to row to other side of a lake when two tourists had taken a rowing boat but were afraid to row it back where they had taken it.. So as you might see, quite many of us here, we react to rhings like this. We are able to roam rather freely in the nature, but we do it with respect of other peoples property, because most of the time, the forests, roads ect are private and not owned by goverment, its the law that allows us to do it.

I hope you will remember in the future... It doesn't have to be even that bad situation but I think it's always a good idea to remove all bags from the bike. It's so much easier to move the bike around and lift up without the heavy luggage.

The boat was most probably not locked up because most people in these areas has a general respect for ownership, so locks are not really needed. If you saw a car unlocked in a parking lot, would you just go in and sit in it? This is the exact same thing, just with different surroundings...

The Nordic "everyman's right" concept and the culture around it is difficult for many foreigners. Even though you don't see many PRIVATE PROPERTY signs, and property is not surrounded by barbed wire fences and locked gates and guarded by armed guards, the property is still owned by someone. Some people say it is better to ask forgiveness afterwards than ask for permission before. But it is the opposite. I would be more than happy to borrow a rowing boat to a lovely couple like you. Personally I never lock the door of our lakeside sauna. I even keep the stove loaded with dry firewood and kindling and leave a box of matches where anyone can Find them. If someone gets in trouble on the lake and is in danger of hypothermia, they don't have to break the door to seek shelter and warmth. But I still don't like the idea of other people using our property without permission just for fun. I wish good luck for your future journeys !

I’ve been really enjoying this series…. One thing I will say is Marth just take a deep breath in and times it’s never quite as bad as you think it is…. Off road bikes are pretty much meant to be dropped! You’re not the first and won’t be the last it will just make you a better rider as a whole….. just keep your cool 99% of the time everything will be fine! Make peace with the fact the bike will have some war wounds we’ve all done it lol

Don't get me wrong. I love you guys. But it is funnyyy to see how things, which are just everyday for Finns look like from a foreign perspective. Nobody writes instructions about chopping wood or rowboats, because you (sillily) assume that everyone was already taught by their grandad.😁

A bit of advice on big adventures. When stuff goes wrong, just stop and take a deep breath. Don't dwell on whos "fault" it is as you are both going to make mistakes and learn. Even if it takes a while to get the bike and yourself out of trouble, you will be able to do it one way or another. Enjoy the good the bad and the ugly of the trip. Have fun guys!!

When you find yourself in somewhat sketchy moments like a really tight space re between you and the ditch, make it easy on your self and just walk the bike through. Ya will stay upright and even if you drop it, you will be in one piece. Broken mirrors are no biggie and just gives you an excuse to go shopping! LOL

Don't let it dent your confidence just look out for yourself try and keep clear of bike if going down. Hi, i appreciate what you are saying. Martha didn't word that the best. We obviously know there are rules, she more meant that the country is very relaxed which is what we love. The boat was in a popular hiking area (popular by Finnish standards) so I believe if the boat shouldnt have been used it would have been locked up. Nevertheless it created an unforgettable memory for us and we did no harm so therefore I would do it all over again 😁

I think some of the viewers should lighten up. Seeing an unlocked boat next to a public camping area it’s not unreasonable for a tourist to assume it’s for public use. I don’t think these guys would intentionally do anything illegal and in the end the boat was returned and no harm was done. Knowing the Finns and how kind hearted they are I’m very sure the owner would have been perfectly fine with the situation.

Next time you bump to a timber truck, making that load takes appr. 30 minutes. Surely you can spare that instead of taking such risks. Additionally, timber trucks may run tight schedules and such incidents delay them. Forest roads are built for forestry purposes, so other users give way and wait. That's probably the reason the driver did not help you; lesson to be learned. Or he had some other valid reason; like safety or health aspects. That said, luckily you did not injure yourself & safe journey onwards!

Don’t overtake a truck with a narrow strip next to a drop….experience . Be cautious , not impatient ….bike riding is dangerous . Hope you both are riding motocross/ enduro boots …alpine star tech 7 s …. There is plenty of space under the gear lever wearing these on the 300s. Lower your bike by at least 40mm, lowering links cost not much , lower forks to match , the rally is too tall for anyone under 31 inch inseam . Cool video 😅
@Jinado1
@Jinado1 Ай бұрын
They already have lowering links on it, and I believe the forks are lowered, too, or at least the handlebars themselves. They went over all that in her video where she passed her mod 2 and got her license I believe. But also, they really couldn't lower it any further. It's already got very little ground clearance for the offroad riding they're doing. That was quite evident a few videos ago back in the UK where Martha's pegs were literally scraping along the grass at one point. Also, there's no such thing as a bike too tall, you just gotta learn the proper techniques there are to riding a bike where your feet can't quite touch the ground comfortably (or even at all).
