Better than any beretta made in the last two decades

I purchased my first pistol in 1998. It was the Taurus PT-92. I have carried it on duty, and off duty. It is still my EDC. I have probably 70,000 rounds through it and last year replaced the factory (plastic guide rod) with a new stainless steal one. My Department went to Glock 22 several years ago. But I am still a Taurus fan, and always will be.

First gun I ever shot was a Colt detective that my grandfather would make wax bullets for so us boys could target practice in the alley behind his house in the north end of Kansas city, today I carry a 629 performance center snubnose but I own a couple Taurus model 65's one made in the late 70's and a newer production one that are just as accurate and reliable as any other gun I own, Taurus makes solid weapons.
@LowProOperator6 ай бұрын
Yea they make good stuff. People trash em because of their cheap models but honestly I’ve never had an issue with em. If it’s not an over priced Glock people think it’s bad these days.

Not gonna lie I switched back to the Glock lol not because the Taurus is a bad gun but when you’ve trained with something for years, you’ve got that muscle memory I know where it’s going to hit. I know how to hold it and I’m good with it the Taurus is very accurate, but it is heavier with a fatter grip and it is a little bit longer.so dang pretty I just don’t wanna scuff it up but a very fine piece to shoot
@Catgat376 ай бұрын
@@LowProOperator I get that. And it is a good philosophy to stick with a platform if you are proficient with it. I am one of the individuals who shoots as many handguns as I possibly can. I can pick up any handgun and still shoot it better than 90% of people at the range. I am kinda eyeing this Taurus in this same finish and I just don't know. Wife would need to be convinced lol.

@@Catgat37 I have a model just like this for a couple dollars more with all gold accents. The trigger and trigger bar safety and all that is gold plated and it looks pretty dope if you want something a little bit different. Absolutely love my 99AF, can’t complain about anything. The frame mounted safety was also what made me get it, since I never liked the slide mounted safety on the berreta in the first place. Shoots smooth and true, also really great accuracy for the price range compared to Berreta

My first pistol was a PT-92. And I did carry it. It was a great firearm. Thanks for the video.
@johnsommermeyer46494 ай бұрын
How Taurus came about making the 92 is pretty interesting. Beretta just bailed on their factory, now the same guys are building the 92 for Taurus. I understand the frame safety is better, either way.

Yeah, people really crap on Taurus but honestly, I think it’s a pretty phenomenal handgun for the price

I have the exact same Taurus and love the look, the feel, the weight, the accuracy, etc. I’m more accurate with it than any other pistol I’ve ever fired! In fact, and this is freaking me out a bit, I just bought a Beretta 92GTS and so far I still like the Taurus better! 😮
@LowProOperator4 ай бұрын
@@Fine39XMEN I love Beretta, but people really are sleeping on Taurus. I think some people just say they’re bad because they heard someone say it was bad one time but once you get one of these in your hands, you realize they make a pretty good quality stuff. I think they’re 92 models are some of the best, but most of their firearms are pretty great overall.

After making this video and shooting a few hundred rounds through it, it is a very accurate pistol and feels great. But I’m still better with my Glock so I find myself grabbing it more. That is actually just the old berreta design before the US military contracts. The brazillian military used the pt 92 till recently they are changimg over to a new taurus polymer striker fired gun. But the safety is just how it was on the pre US military guns.

Don’t get me wrong I do love Glocks and they fit great in my hands, but most people buy them for the hype. They work well for what they are but the truth is they are very overpriced. It’s one of those things when you’re young and you wanna own a Glock because everyone else has one and then they came out with the polymer 80 kits and I built a whole bunch of Glock 19 and Glock 17s. Very fun at the range. I can bring a bunch of them when I’m training new shooters, but nothing special about them. Truth is I own a bunch of guns. I would most likely never carry, but I like to collect and try new things like a woman with heels, L O L

Beretta 2024 New Model 92 GTS DA/SA frame mounted decocker/safety and it dot optic ready , based on the 1980 Beretta original design . You need a LOLA LOADER for loading mag's Beretta 92 XI SAO= single action only . Try the 11 lb. main hammer spring for a 7 lb. DA Trigger
@LowProOperator4 ай бұрын
Yeah, I think Beretta makes the superior firearm no doubt but Taurus really knocked it out of the park especially for the price point. The Beretta cost about three times as much. I don’t like the single action only set up though just personal preference I guess.

Humidity accumulates close to the floor. Leave your ammo away from the floor. Where do you get spare parts for your Taurus?
@LowProOperator5 ай бұрын
I don’t get any spare parts for it. I don’t shoot it often honestly. But I know some Baretta parts will work fine in it and I’m sure you could go to the Taurus websites

So most of those ammo cans are sealed with a silica gel pack in them. Unfortunately, I have wooden floors and that ammo is pretty empty. I wanted to spread that surface area across the floor as best I could, but if I could get some heavy duty rack set up in the future. I’d like to keep it a couple feet off the ground for sure. Good input.

@@NAMELESSINTERNETADDICT what’s going on with yours? Are you having issues with it cycling?
@LowProOperator5 ай бұрын
@@NAMELESSINTERNETADDICT also if you’re just looking for different weight springs, I’ve got some ideas. You can use a Beretta spring in the Taurus. If you could find a factory pistol spring of the same size, you could use it as well. A lot of designs are very similar. If your spring is too light, you can try pulling the springapart or stretching it slightly it will increase its rate. Just try to do it evenly and don’t do it too much because you can create a weak point.

Calling the PT92 a knock off or saying Beretta copied Taurus is not right, Taurus bought a Beretta factory to make those pistols. Google is your friend. I wont link the hundreds of articles that tell the story. The old 92s had the same safety. It looks like you have a very nice pistol enjoy it!

I couldn’t do that. It would completely ruin one of my favorite things about this piece. It’s too beautiful for that. Now as for my old standard Beretta 92 that wouldn’t be a bad idea.. I switch here and there like today I was feeling like carrying my Glock so that’s what I grabbed. Depends on what I’m wearing and where I’m going some things concealed better than others. if I’m wearing a coat all day, I have a chest rig I can wear this and it sits right under my armpit so nobody will see it. It’s a T-shirt day. I’m typically carrying the Glock in the waistband holster.

Yea, just because its a clone and its Not made in China, if they used decent materials and Copied the Original closely enough to call it a Clone. Its going to be as good or better at HALF or less the price. MY dad has an old 300 dollarish Browning High power Copy and I really liked it I think from Argentina? Even its old ass barely there sights, made me focus on picking up the sights and not being lazy and then focus more on the target too. Shoots well and handles just as good and not 1000+ dollars for a FN/Browning. Also I do have another FN the 5.7 and it is Expensive. I will probably still go ahead and geta Beretta SAO for 1kish also has threaded barrel and single action only more my style as most of my guns are 1911s or similar smaller guns.
