To wrap up the year, I built a scale model town after a fresh snow. It was inspired by a painting by Norman Rockwell. Merry Christmas, everyone! Thanks for a great year of crafting.

A few years ago we visited Stockbridge, MA, where that Rockwell scene is from, and then my daughter did a cross stitch of that scene (which is really cool), and now you've added a completely new dimension to it. This reminds me of 1850s living Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts. I would add a sleigh ride, skating pond, carolers, and a Christmas tree etc. Great job

I've saved this video to my Favorites file. I'm of an age (nearing 70) where I'm downsizing, which includes buying my first artificial tree; it's all of 2ft tall and occupies the top of my treadle sewing machine in my studio apartment window. The wire tree comes pre-lit and I've festooned it with 1in diameter glass ornaments, 2.4in glass icicles, a hand-strung popcorn garland, and a yellow cardstock 5-pointed star at its top. Your video pointed out to me how easy it would be to make a little Christmas Village to circle the base of the tree. I have a background that includes cabinetmaking, electronics, and architectural modelmaking, so doing this should not be difficult for me. Who knows; maybe it will open a whole new side business for myself...

this is one of my favorite builds because the setting feels mostly timeless and setting agnostic. Nothing "gives away" a specific theme other than winter a small town and that means it "fits" in almost every settting you might have (including your Imaginary Wild West theme!)
