FWIW, in case no one else has mentioned it, you can't actually go into a sideways pipe by standing on a P-switch as the platform - it's too brief of a moment before it's pressed down. (I was pretty sure you couldn't, but I just tested it in the editor to make sure.) Can go in doors using a P-switch, of course, but not sideways pipes. So there was no way to know whether that was a pipe that could physically be entered - either way, there was no practical way to do so.
