Dope!! You rock mate. I'd love to see how is your workflow from SP404 to Ableton to arrange. Keep the good work :D

I'm still working on a good flow for full beats. A lot of time I just process samples with the SP and then record into my DAW or export to SD first

im thinking of getting the sp202. actually just because of the creamy low pass filter. I was thinking of getting a s950 in addition to my sp1200, but it would be just for the filter. 1000+ euros for a LPF is a bit much to me 😅 but now you mention that sp202 filter, I can remember someone calling it a “poor mans s950” if it comes to the LPF. gonna do some more deep dive into that machine. looking forward to your next project man!
@spvidz2 ай бұрын
Yeah that’s a lot for a LPF haha! Even the 202 is pushing it on price these days

Maximum sample length is 16 minutes on the mk2. Maximum sample length in the sx is 48 hours (32 gb sd). I did a 44 minute beat tape on a single pad to record to cassette (did the same recording on a and b). Ill check out your tape!
@spvidz2 ай бұрын
Did you not get any issues recording that long on the sx? Mine can’t really record anything longer than a minute or so without some sort of interference that made it useless. I know others had the same issue too. I ended up importing via SD in the end!
@doppelganger86592 ай бұрын
@@spvidz I never noticed anything like that. A minute?? Wow. Was that regardless of the input source? Even when resampling?
@spvidz2 ай бұрын
Resampling is ok it’s just when I record in through the back. I don’t really tend to use it anymore so it’s no big deal and importing works fine. Wonder if it’s something to do with the SD card. I’m not sure
@doppelganger86592 ай бұрын
@@spvidz that was my first thought. The sd card used with the sx is really important since it does not have internal memory for samples. Or maybe I also had clicks and pops and just never noticed? I dunno. I still use my sx quite a bit. It has a different sound than the mk2 and it runs for like, six hours on a set of AAs.
@MattCupan2 ай бұрын
@@spvidz most likely the write speed on the memory card. That's wild recording that much onto a single pad. I've always just recorded to cassette. I feel a cassette tape is a better media for recordings. Things damn near indestructible. Great for an archive collection. Tape has that sound aesthetic on their own. And 4 track recordings open up a lot more possibilities too, with their limitations.

What are your thoughts on the Digitakt? Have you used one before? Compared to a 404, what makes one worth it compared to the other?
@spvidz2 ай бұрын
Not used one sorry. I’ve heard the workflow takes a minute to figure out though

Mr Marlow Digs uses the same Analog Heat....could Elektron have a usefull piece of kit after all? Remains to be seen.
@spvidz2 ай бұрын
He does yeah. I dig it but I do think its expensive for what it is
@soulscientific26852 ай бұрын
how do i connect to my mpc live 2 to my analog heat? i cant figure it out!!
@spvidz2 ай бұрын
You just need two 1/4” jack cables. Then go out of the outputs of the MPC and into the inputs of the analog heat
