Ah trees, in the form of a dress it’s a recipe for the perfect camouflage. Works even better to confuse travellers of the woods they’re imagining a formal tree nymph in their fleeting sights. I’d honestly be all in on a nature dress series accompanied by Hozier, since a lot of his music has some lowkey get lost in the woods vibe. Well done on this evergreen garment Kira! 💚

Pine trees becomes more of a Broccoli shale as ages; but Fir's, Spruce's and Araucaria's has the classic shape of Christmas tree more. Our teacher at uni always says to us that dont say Pine to every needle leaf tree, as you cant say Grandfather to every bearded person 💀

You ca"n use that lining trick to make a nice outside edge. I cut the lining about 2" wider on the front edges (I was making a cloak). Then, when I turned it right side out & pressed the seam, I had a nice grey trim on the center front. It can go both ways - trim on the outside or a good "you think you're gonna roll to the outdide? Ha!* on the lining.

i greatly enjoy the whimsy of your sewing videos. a ruffle-helping tip: grab a really thin ribbon (1/8") or a cord, lay it against the very top of the fabric you're going to ruffle, and run a wide zig-zag stitch over the cord/ribbon, not catching it. then, after, you can pull the cord/ribbon to the length that you want the ruffle to be and it's so much easier than gathering using a gathering stitch and like 0% chance of the gathering thread breaking because there isn't really one.

Hey, I love your videos so far, and I may have a trick for you and everyone else who HATES gathering because the thread always snaps. Do you know those long white strips people use to gather curtains (for all fellow Germans out there: Kräuselband, gibt es im jeden Tedox für ein paar Cent der Meter)? Well, it turns out they are also perfect for gathering tulle, organza, and any other fabric you could think of. You can sew them with your machine's largest stitch and use the cords to gather your material. Best thing: They are reusable; just seam rip it after you secure your gathers like you usually would
