As stressful as it is when you are so tight to get everything cut in the fabric, it is so satisfying when you are left with little scraps.

Small suggestion for the next time you tie something off too short (it happened once, so, you know, people gotta people). If you hand sew over your last complete part of the seam and just continue to the point? It'll probably take less swearing? Maybe? - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown

While I try and figure out (finally, finally) how to fit my mixed-media / art / sculpture / photography / printing studio space into a small one-bedroom vintage 70's apartment building. Prayers, burnt incense and burnt baking as offerings to the Tetris Gods would be deeply appreciated. {also - the friggin' sewing... ghahhh} - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown

I love the spooky vibe without hitting it on the nose, so to speak. Reminds me very much of a friend I had in college. I met her when I joined the college choir. I didn't have anyone to sit with so when looking for a seat, I noticed that no one was sitting next to the girl wearing giant rubber rats as earrings. That was exactly who I wanted to sit next to! Earrings like that would go well with this dress, and tie in with the Ratatouille ride ;)

My sewing machine also has a press button to tie threads in place. It's just a dot with a circle around it. When I puss that button, the needle simply goes into the fabric 4 times in a row, but the transport foot does not go any further. If you have that little sign on your sewing machine, or the "thread tying" function, you can simply let the sewing machine do the work. I always just tighten them a little so that the knot stays in place.

Super cute! As frustrating as it can be sometimes, I love that sewing with vintage patterns can be an adventure. My current project definitely had some vintage pattern weirdness. Not sure if it didn’t get punched correctly (unprinted pattern) or if the original seamstress just made her own alterations and tossed the cut off bits but it took a bit of wrangling to get all the pieces sorted. 🤷🏻♀️

Wondering if a little snap at the front (above the buttons) would hold that together a little better. Looks great on you! Good pattern selection. You can add it to your Tried & True stash. Still think you look best with no makeup, and I honestly thought you had your hair like that on purpose (forgot to let the side down), it was cute. Can't wait to see what you come up with next.

@@StephanieCanada I'm always sourcing notions from my local Senior thrift store. Lots of great hook/eyes and little snaps, zippers, buttons, fabric cuts and patterns grannie never used.
