I like the “wrong” bias tape! It creates a strong visual boundary that looks intentional if you don’t tell us otherwise. Especially for a novelty skirt with giant Christmas lights. It may not be what you had in mind, but it looks great.

Just recently found your channel while looking at videos for the Walkaway Dress.... and now I'm hooked! I just love your humor. Oh, and your voice-overs are just what I need to make my day brighter. As for these 2 skirts, I thought you did a great job. Have to admit that my favorite is the green one. The white corduroy that you added to the bottom really made this one stand out. Btw there's a method shown in the Decades of Style Chore Skirt pattern to add a pocket AND a zip together. I printed out just those pages and keep them on my sewing table for reference and have used them in trousers too.
