Story 2: Hopefully OP and her Mom have learned the age old lesson. Trust your dogs. Follow their lead. They can sense bad in a person within seconds of being around that person. Also, never "put them away" in another room. You're opening yourself to an attack. You just blocked the one thing that will protect you. I've always trusted my dogs. Even though,in that moment I had no idea why they were behaving that way. I always found out why later.

Before hearing the end of this story, I'm going to guess there was an issue before lotion man, and that was the straw that broke the camels back. Something else she did that day upset him, and made him rethink the relationship. Edit: called it, and imagine that all you had to do to save your marriage was to give your wife a box of hair dye to dye her hair red.
