I'm so excited to share the traditional folk dress of my people! I managed to get historical fabrics and trims which are correct for my district's official dress. I'm going to explain my background research, share how I made the dress, and then take you with me to my hometown to wear it and show it off to the whole town!

Your cat clearly knows how expensive the historical fabric you have was. That's why there was no sitting on the fabric

oh man if they made us wear the bags I would absolutely die, I already feel like I'm drowning in sweat wearing poly cotton pants D: They did have those Ikea bucket hats made out of the bag fabric. I assumed that nobody would want them, cause I thought they were hideous, but they sold out incredibly quickly.

i realize that those high-end luxury antique fabrics are so high quality and so tightly woven that they just don't fray, but still--this is some serious skill!! it's amazing that you got something that stiff to fit you that perfectly, and the result is surprisingly flattering given how stiff the textile is. wow!!

As someone who works in your district, I was thoroughly entertained! And here was I congratulating myself for making a shirtdress out of an ex display children's quilt cover to wear to the work Christmas party (most people didn't notice, except my colleague who worked in Children's, who thought it was brilliant.) It is, however, a bit more wearable - that historical polypropylene doesn't breathe too well.

I am so glued and riveted to this video! I sew at my son’s woodworking/ auto body repair shop and I have lots of that blue fabric there. I am on fire watching you work with this fabric. I am surrounded by tempting machines, table saws, drill press, and tools which I think would be useful for cutting and assembling my sewing projects. ( one of my work tables is a 4x8 foot sheet of MDF sitting on a car lift. And two other work tables are simply plywood sheets screwed to large wooden rolling carts we used to use for stacking lumber.) I think it is so funny to blend these worlds but I’ve never really done the things I have imagined. You did a great job! Tarp of the Morning To Ya!

as someone who may or may not work there, as long as you're not being disruptive or hassling us, we're pretty fine with people doing just about anything. You can eat in the store, you can let your kids play in the store, please put your rubbish in the bin though cause people leave it on the shelves, ugh. We're too busy folding up bits of cardboard and cramming them into bins or trying to find a place to fit an extra pallet of pillows to mind if someone's reenacting the Swedish chef in one of the roomsets
