If you enjoyed Cultist Sim's early game, check out Book of Hours! It's a much comfier game in the same universe where you can't really "lose" so there's no gauge-watching panic. :D

Okay, i love the fact that you can shift click to rename your familiars. Or at least the merchant.

your armor CAP, initially was only 4. After you got the thingy that gave you daily armor by having assistants, the max you could've got was 4, even if you had 7 assistants. By getting the irons, you got to a cap of 7! I assume the "Chaos Sanctum" that improves your witch armor could be more useful if you didn't have that massive armor regening daily... but tbh it seems totally useless otherwise.

So, with hindsight, definitely want to spend skulls armor chaos iron at the gate way after getting the one time bonuses then go for +attack as much as possible at the sanctum for more skulls. Leave hostile fairy cities alive, if it's possible to antagonize friendly cities, do it. Blood for the blood goblin.

given that it autostacks to nearby chests or production buildings (if something is on them) can you not place chests directly on the producer? ala your mana generating city having a storage chest for crystals rather than individual crystals on it, allowing the crystal producers to produce and auto feed without clutter

As someone who finished cultist simulator hard mode multiple times, seeing someone play a similar game but not optimizing doing multiple things at once, I got SO frustrated. It's not anyone's fault and it's my own problem, but seeing those frog familiars not used for the ruins or the exploring... Not maximizing the mana making.. I cri

I tended to feel that way when watching a few different youtubers play stacklands. I was a bit surprised things are going so smoothly for wanderbots playing on hard difficulty with almost no use of the familiars. The only consequence seems to be missing one 'defeat an enemy' quest. I guess this is just a more chill take on the genre.

Looks like a great game, I'm just slightly annoyed it's so long until the official release date. I see a game online, I want to play it but it will release in 10 days! I feel like the hype dies down a bit by then and I'm less likely to purchase the game

Having tried the demo, my only complaints have to do with the reliance on reagents... that you can't get easily. This sucks all life out of combat, which is entirely reliant on you healing yourself with reagents after fights. Obviously the full game, and the armor thing improve it, but it still feels like it'll be kinda awkward.

Reagents are reasonably easy to get after some level of research, as you can grind up land cards for a steady supply of reagents. There's also a golden reward that gives you one reagent for every 1-2 potions produced, which completely solves the issue. I think the point of scarcity is to give the game some tension, as you can't freely explore and fight without putting yourself at risk. So either you have to sacrifice familiars occasionally to save yourself, or prepare sufficiently enough with armor/stocked healing spells.

Cultist sim proved that its a solid format for a variety of games, Stacklands built upon it in a very clever way, and Witchhand took ideas from both and made something quite special.
