Fully agree. It’s unrealistic to think all will run perfectly. We learn as much from hearing about what worked, than what had to be addressed/fixed. Amazing bowl. Well done.

I really love this bowl! For context, I recently purchased a bowl about this size from Amazon in the US: it was $99. I eventually sent it back because it was sooo thin I wasn't convinced of its durability. Your glass looks thicker . So beautiful!!

Absolutely love it, Mark! I honestly believe this is the ONLY way to go when doing a freshwater bowl aquarium: no filter, no CO2, and LOADS of plants! I love your DIY light stand too. I immediately felt uncomfortable seeing the initial setup with the clamp on the rim. Curved glass can be so scary! It can crack instantly if there's some critical pressure point!

Hi, MJ! I really love this low tech setup! It's so beautiful. I do not have a tank of any kind, but I find your videos inspiring. They really make me want to try it. That said, I'm afraid of how much maintenance they require. How often do you feed your shrimp and what do you feed them with? Is it a self sustaining ecosphere that does not require feeding? How often do you test the water? How long does each aquascape last before you feel the need to dismantle and start over? Thank you for sharing your knowledge! 😃
@MJAquascaping
@MJAquascaping Жыл бұрын
Because I added so many shrimp and a few fish as well, feeding is needed. I just feed them regular fish pellets 3-4 times per week. I only test the water once just to check if the tank is cycled. Honestly a tank like this can last for a couple years, I just rescape them so I can make new videos.

Hey MJ, i have questions regarding your old diy co2 setup that was recently replaced: 1. Did you turn it off at night or did you always leave it inside / keep it running? 2. Did you use any needle valve or sth like that to control the amount of co2 or did you just go from the bottle straight to the diffusor?
