I know costs vary widely, but providing a ROUGH estimate on material costs would be super helpful when budgeting for these types of projects! When I'm deciding which of your plans to purchase, I need to know ahead of time if the overall project will be affordable. Just a suggestion, Thanks! Great work!

I'm glad that you show that mistakes were made. Almost every post on social media I see says "it's not perfect". Nothing is and so many so called "experts" make us feel that their work is perfect. Kudos to guys like you who show them.

Your videos have come such a long way, the audio, the camera motion and transitions in particular are excellent. Crazy to see KZbinrs with better quality videos than TV shows these days. Really enjoyable to watch I got an MKBHD vibe when the camera zoomed in for certain sentences for emphasis, and his videos are top notch.

Hey, Brad, time for me to get back into the shop and what better way than to take a project from your library of plans! I'm going to use this plan for my Ham Shack to store electrical supplies and tools, and then make a counter top for my radios and related electronics. If your ever looking for something to build, may I suggest a cabinet with lots of drawers maybe 3 or 4" in height for all the small parts that come in the world of electronics, Just a thought. I have built most of your shop furniture and cabinets and they all came out fantastic! Your plans and videos are awesome!!

You suggested the painter tape for notes. I've been using a thin masking tape for my markers for a few months now. When I set up my shop and started to build my stand for my table saw, I could barely read the pencil, but then could not sand it off. That's when I decided to use masking tape and a Sharpie marker. Now I label all my parts for projects. I also learned that if I'm, working on multiple projects to use a different color pen for each project. Masking tape is really inexpensive, but it doesn't pay your bills, LOL. Believe it or not, you are the first tuber I've seen suggest it, though.

One "issue" I didn't see you address in the build is working with the skirting board and the gap it creates at the rear of the cabinets. The one thing I loathe about store bought furniture, and generally address prior to installing, especially with shorter furniture, is the gap created at the back. I generally notch out the back bottom to allow the cabinet etc to flush up to the wall. This saves crud, small objects (pens are a great example) from rolling off the back and falling behind the cabinet. It also makes the fixture look neater when seen from the side, an off-cut of skirting is the perfect template to make the cut-out.
@martyjosephson49373 жыл бұрын
Hey Brad, I'm sure you were telling the truth about the pocket hole, but I couldn't see it. Have you considered putting some edge banding on that Lazy Susan to help with the turning, sort of turning handles instead of grabbing the plywood base, much easier with the extended handle on all four corners

#MistakesWereMade - The same wrong pocket hole shows up in various time spots. In the outdoor paint booth for one and is very obvious around 8:23 while you squat in front of the cabinet. I looked for an additional wrong hole but couldn't find one. Great build. I'm going to be doing my wife's craft room later this year or early next year. While I say her craft room, it's where she sends me to do stuff with the Cricut, edit/print photos I take of the sports teams at the school she teaches at or make posters for her classroom (it's really my room, LoL!). Oh, she sews in there too. Thank you for the great video and inspiration.

For the drawer fronts, an alternative to clamping would be to use double sided tape and stick the front to the drawer, then screw from behind. Saves working around clamps. Enjoyed the video. Thanks.

So many other KZbinrs make draws with some kind of rabbet or dado for the bottom. I like the simplicity of your drawers, but I'm curious about the strength. I'd love to see a video that compared how much weight different draw styles can hold. Or even just the kind of weight you put in your drawers without problems? What about long term durability?

Hello. Happy New Year to you and your family and all your other fans. I have no idea what size of shop you work out of. My other shop was my 26’ x 28’ garage with 8’ walls. I loved it had lots of extra room despite having a lot of tools. BUT NOW I ONLY have a 20’x20’ with 10’ walls because we moved and bought a new house and the city we moved too has such small yards and 20x20 was as big as I could go to have some backyard. I’m in the middle of moving my tools into New shop and I just don’t know how I’m going to Make it work. Your shop seems large like a triple garage. ? This new house has a triple car garage attached but it’s not in my opinion a true triple it’s more like a double and a half. I might be putting some of my cabinets and tools I don’t use often into it. Anyway, any true suggestions on how to make my layout / flow work . I would like suggestions from anyone who has this size shop . Ty in advance .

I noticed your 3d Printer, I found one of the greatest things to build is hose adapters for dust collection. You get a set of calipers and measure the diameters, design and print it out. One thing I did find my printer would print a circle like 2mm larger so I had to compensate for that.

(2:57 in the video shows a good view) Is there a reason you didnt mount it flush to toe kick? Is there an additional piece that you didnt show in the video that will go there, or is this a design standard? Or a bradism?
