I am so excited for when you do read Empire of the Vampire and Gothikana. Some of the best gothic books I’ve read so far. Plus Jay Kristoff is my favourite author so I’m a lil biased haha. Can’t wait to hear what you think if these picks though!!

Aaaaaah! Loved this. I can totally relate to trying to read a book and not getting into it and trying again later and loving it. Part of it is just cause I am a mood reader. Dracula was one of those, though. I tried reading it in like middle school or my freshman year of high school and because of the format (it's told in various formats like journals and letters and sometimes news clippings) I couldn't get into it. Then I chose it my senior year and was able to get through it and found I really enjoyed the unique format. Six of Crows was another that I tried and just couldn't get into but when I tried again like a year or two later, LOVED it. So I hope that's the case for One Dark Window. I think the vibe of the book will go well with the season, as you said!
