I would love a video that explains the differences for a jeweler between white, yellow and rose gold, and how you choose which to use.
@moderngoldsmith2 жыл бұрын
Great idea, thanks! Short answer is that 14K, 18K, etc gold alloys all have the same amount of gold in them, but it's the other alloys mixed in that produce the final color. I'm a HUGE fan of yellow gold these days...
@Sheepdog13142 жыл бұрын
@@moderngoldsmith 18k has 75% gold, 14k has 58% gold. All the other alloys have different amounts of gold as well.

18k has 75% gold, 14k has 58% gold. All the other alloys have different amounts of gold as well. The color is made by the second alloyed metal
@brookesj32 жыл бұрын
@@Sheepdog1314 that’s what he meant. So 14k gold in yellow, white and rose has the same amount of gold but the colour is created by the other alloys. Same as with 18k in yellow, white and rose, each one has the same amount of gold but different proportions of the alloys to get the colours.
@Starvoice7622 жыл бұрын
Other replies accounted for, white gold specifically, by itself will always have a yellow, almost dingy tinge to it. In order to get that bright white, it's plated with rhodium.

Amazing!! I sell antique rings very similar to Daphne's engagement ring and the amount of work you have put into this is so amazing.. This reminds me of imagining how much work went into the original Georgian rings from the jewellers at the time!

I went to an antique market just recently and saw one very similar. Although I had no idea, because I never watched Bridgerton. It just caught my eye, because it loved the look of it.

I had that same thought while watching. Like before there were things like 3D printers how were they pulling things off
@gnarbeljo89802 жыл бұрын
@@juliatheejawn you can still cast with a hand scuplted piece low tech. Or you can break a piece down into the individual geometric shapes like rods and square tubes and plates and put them together, or create a solid shape and hand carve, saw and drill out the negative space and pins. Alot of painstaking work anyway you do it. And gold loss too although filing dust and shavings were always remelted and used. These videos are always interesting to watch!

I’ve never seen or have met an artist that doesn’t feel anxiety on many different levels. The feeling of dying is common, unless you’re planning an out. It is necessary to see someone for help. I know that the expense is one reason, another is lack of time. “I’ve heard I won’t be creative, or artistic”, which is not true at all. “I don’t want anyone to know”. You do realize they’re probably feeling the same way. Please care for yourself. See someone for your family. You’re here for them.
