Just curious, how many of you guys out there had A) never heard of Guyana before watching this video, B) heard the name, but knew nothing about it, C) knew a few things about it, or D) was an expert on Guyana before this video. Also - please leave any feedback on the overall story in the comments here - I really enjoyed this trip and I'm looking forward to going back to Guyana someday soon!

What amazes me with all you videos… there is one unique thing I noticed and that is “ the people with little or no resources are willing to share the little they have with you but people that have lots of resources like the people in the western world are not willing to share” they always want more and more. Real love is out there but that is in the natural part of the world.

My mom is from Georgetown Guayana but she hasn’t been back since she moved to America over 22 years ago. It was crazy to finally see the market she talked about selling at as a child in your video. She didn’t have the most positive upbringing there so I have only heard her perspective on the country. I was always afraid to go from the stories shes told me but after seeing this video it has truly changed my perspective! I now hope to one day see Guyana for myself and maybe even bring my mom back with me! Thank you for making this 💗

8870 its not a carribean accent but a Guyanese accent, all carribbean have different accents except for Trinidad which is very similar to a Guyanese accent, but if you are a Guyanese you can tell the dufference, in Guyana we speak Guyanese accented English which is in par with British English from the South of england , the best plus of course we have the regional accents, but dont get confused with creolise which is totally different, with many langauges included and slang words. so you know now.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience there in 2016 and that you gave yourself another chance to experience it. For more Jewish population, try going next door to Suriname, which has a long Jewish history and a community that is still there. FYI, when I tell people I used to live in Guyana, they say "Ghana?" Then I have to explain that it is in South America. More people were familiar with the older term "British Guiana."

Drew just a small correction , the northern border of Guyana is not the Caribbean Sea , it is the Atlantic Ocean . Guyana is not in the Caribbean , it’s on the continent of South America ( the coast of ). Guyana is considered a part of the West Indies/Caribbean because of its colonial past and connection with Great Britain , also the cultural similarities of the islands.

@@1004LP They were replying to the first reply under the correction where someone said "Drew is as smooth as Mountain Dew", which from my understanding (english isn't my native language so correct me if I'm wrong) means he's stupid.

Fun fact: Guyana just recently received a rapid economic boost which makes them one of the if not the fastest growing country in the entire world. Unfortunately, the country still deals with corruption, but let's hope it could get better with the increased amount of GDP per capita they just received last year.

Seeing just how many indigenous people spoke English was mind blowing to me. It seemed like you were able to develop a greater kinship with them because you knew their language.
