You can protect the paper by coating both sides of the print with mod podge. It will seal your print.

Yes, there are wider copper tapes. I have seen 1 inch , 2 inch, 4 inch , 6 inch, as well as a sheet size ( 8 1/2 × 11). 👍 I definitely will be getting those eventually,...lol....all the ideas of how to use those! 😅

I use a little wooden flat "spoon" from an ice cream pop for burnishing the copper tape. A popsicle stick or orange stick also works well. The wood is soft enough that the tape doesn't rip and you get a smooth finish. Another fun video!!! Thanks!

Hello Lovley. Absolutley love your work and appreciate you're sharing ❤ can I ask does it matter which metal is used for the blank ring as long as its nikel and lead free. I'm in the UK and finding it very difficult to source copper based silver Blanks.
@eugeniaedits11 ай бұрын
Hello! So happy that you like my tutorials!! You can use any ring as long as it's lead free. You would just have to wrap it with copper in the part where you are joining a stone/porcelain/crystal to set it. With the ring bases I have I dont need to do since they are copper base and solder sticks to them without a need for a copper tape. I have those rings in my Etsy here is a link (they are sold out now but I will be restocking soon) www.etsy.com/listing/852605750/no-tarnish-silver-ring-base-adjustable?transaction_id=3942311052 But as long as you wrap a ring to set you stone onto - you are fine. And! Sometimes you can get lucky and some metals would adhere without copper tape. Try applying solder without and see if it sticks. If it doesnt, then use copper tape. I hope this helps! Thank you for being so sweet and leaving a sweet comment 🥰

@@eugeniaedits aww you're very welcome. I've spent two days binge watching your show hehe thanks for the information. I appreciate it. I'm a polymer clay artist and just fancied having a go at soldering. Spoke to one of my suppliers today who sells crystals and varies metals. She gave me some great advice on the formulas she uses to make her silver, copper etc jewellery tarnish free so I'll give that ago. If iw as to buy the rings you use I'd need lots of them so wholesales the best route for me. They wouldn't be used for the soldering but for my polymer clay pieces. I've not ventured into rings with the clay because of the tarnish problem with rings available at a decent price. Sadly most arent what they say on the box if you know what I mean.

Oh yeah! I bought hundreds and they were all getting yellowish or bronzish after a month or so. Finally found these and they are perfect. I understand if it's a production then you would need to source wholesale :) I have played w polymer once - then I did not cure it the right way and thought was not for me lolol. (user error lol) So I might revisit it one day because it's so fun! I use apoxy sculpt for jewelry and it air dries. So many fun things to work with and create with! So happy you liked the videos! Welcome to the club lol :)
