You should have toasted the buns, the taste of a toasted brioche bun is unbelievable. Trust i'm french and we invented the brioche. And also heated Nutella is crazy. If you wanna something nuts : do "pain perdu" that you call "french toast" with brioche, and then put nutella between two slices. Believe me dood.

A Nytella sandwich is living enough, the vehicle forbthe nutella should actually be bland and soft. In France, at the end of the day at achool activities we'd get Nutella spread in a quarter of a baguette. The crunchy slighty salty and airy bread was the perfect complement to the goiey, thick chocolate hazelnut spread

Italian here. Thanks for the suggestion, but neither buttermilk biscuits nor french toasts are a thing here 😅 also McDonald's will never care about buying baking plates, but Nutella crepes can be found in any respectable ice cream shop, and the toppings are not limited to chopped nuts.
