Bit of advice, swap out the moss for tropical sheet moss you can get from dart frog suppliers. It grows much nicer and doesn't smother plants as much. Also, your substrate system might be a problem. If it starts to go a bit rancid if you have problems take out the substrate and leca and replace it with an egg-crate false bottom covered in weed fabric. On top of that put a substrate mix known as ABG mix. Add some tropical isopods and springtails and you shouldn't have any problems. Hope everything turns out great thought! :)

Wow, midway it looked bad but at the end it looked really good. Your mock vines worked out really well. It genuinly looks like the woods. In fact it looks to me like the PNW woods so if you are in that area I'm even more impressed. After Serpa Designs, this is probably the best terrarium I've seen. I find a lot of people just put plants in to a jar and call it art. I'd love to see well ventilated videos on making vines and also more updates and videos on terrariums. One note, you probs know this but coco coir sucks up ALL the water, you might need more to create a humidity necessary for the ferns.

I love seeing your take on this kind of project! I think it turned out quite nicely, and I hope you update once it's grown in a little. I'm working on my first ever paludarium build, myself! I used the expanding foam + coco coir for the background like you did, but I put it on a panel of egg crate that I'll suspend from the top of my tank, so I can easily remove for cleaning etc. I'm just finishing the waterfall component, which I'm so excited about!

Great video dude! Hope to see more of them in the future! As for plants, I’ve had success with calathum orbitefolia, syngoniums, semi aquatic plants, and air plants. Arrow leaf syngonium is particularly hardy. Ferns in my terrariums have always been hit or miss. Anyway good vid!

Im 2 yrs late seeing this, but we just did our 20 gal tank today! It won't look as great as yours because we arent doing live plants, but question- how did you do lighting/heating for this? I have a whites tree frog that doesnt need a lot, but she does need some. I heard that you shouldnt stick the lights right on top of the tank because it makes the glass too hot, so where would you put them? We kept the screen lid, so I'm trying to figure out of I can somehow get a clip light to shine in from the front...

All of the modern led aquarium lights don't get hot like the old bulb style lights. I did not heat the tank and the only heat it got would be from the lights
