Cool to see a person learning a tool and trying to understand its capabilities, knowing that it is a really complicated tool, taking into account the year it was developed. Watching people playing DYOM missions I can often see that a lot of them had a greeat idea and potential. Can't blame most authors though, I believe many of them were just a young kids when making it. There is one simple rule that could make a lot of missions singnificantly better: Encapsulate the task so it is not a direct order For example: Reach the checkpoint - lame and boring thing to do Go to the Doherty area - looks better but can't use every time There is an old truck at the Construction site near the old gas station in San Fierro - a bit long but you were able to put some story in the task One more thing about learning DYOM, I think it would be cool if there was some sort of basic tasks that introduce you to the tool. Maybe someone from chat would make it come true

Also I want to add, I believe that people who makes mods using DYOM, they have some kinds of cheat sheets with actors/cars/objects so they can find them very fast

I remember back then, I'm making my own Fallout 3 mods (that only consumed by me). Such as adding OP weapon, adding high-level neutral enemies in low-level area [Field Boss] (kinda like Ebony Warrior in Skyrim, or various RPG; such as Tree Sentinel in Elden Ring), adding more trap/obstacle, etc etc... it was an absolute chore to do it, and to make sure I didn't overwrite the already existing stuff. Also, did some L4D2 mod, albeit a very simple change icon and music.

I high recommend the noclip mod to position cars/objects on the map so that if you want to create a new objective that is super far away from your current objectives you can just quickly noclip there

Hey Josh, i managed to get around doing your mission earlier this week and i must say that i'm impressed about it. Not only that you used one of my favorite vehicles, the Tug. But you also painted in dark blue too. One of my favorite colors. I still don't get how midway through somehow me chasing a running man turned into an exploding gokart tho :/

2:28 i think it has to do with you enabling frame limiter since the game engine can't comprehend multiple same-type inputs in a single frame. my theory is that the DYOM typing mechanic uses the same strict ON/OFF code, just like the other gameplay inputs like WASD or LMB. the same reason why the SA gym minigames suck at 25fps but get better with higher fps
