Yea I took a gamble with that one and I ended up being right 😅 when I finally played the game I thought I got his skin color wrong since it looks to have more color, but then I saw a "closer look" video where they show the character model with a white background and his skin is indeed grey so I guess I was 2 for 2 haha
@sabalghoo3 күн бұрын
@@ninjagillyart The skin was still pretty inaccurate imo, his skin is pretty colorless in the game but definitely not Dark Grey like that! Still overall you did an Amazing job, Great work!

Really nicely done, good call with the eyes and the flames to the base was a really nice touch. Using the contrast paint through the airbrush is a pro move, the people I’ve watched use that technique seem to have really good results. You should be proud, it’s a great looking sculpture! I will definitely be checking out your other videos. Thank you for your concise explanations, so many people tell you with our explaining why, I’ve never heard anyone explain that you should use a gray then black primer.
@ninjagillyartАй бұрын
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words and the feedback. As for the primer method I use, I'm not sure if I'd call it the better option or the one everyone should use. I've seen plenty of other artists on here who get amazing results just using a black primer, I just personally find better results doing it grey first. Maybe I'm blind, or just not doing a thorough enough job finding all the imperfections so I just play it safe haha. I'm glad it can help though!

Why not make the logo of the cape as a stencil?
@ninjagillyart2 ай бұрын
I was thinking about it, but that logo is extremely detailed and would require a complicated stencil. Plus the Cape was not very flat and had lots of wrinkles and waves that would make placing a stencil properly very difficult, and if I didn't place it properly there's risk that the paint will bleed underneath and create a mess that would require me to repaint the entire cape again. It just wasn't worth the risk lol

What, if anything, would you change now that you've played the DLC and seen Messmer in person?
@ninjagillyartАй бұрын
That's a good question, I'd say the model was pretty spot on with it's design other than not having the sandals and the rune logo on the back of the cape. As for what I'd change on the paint job, I think maybe his skin should be a little lighter gray. I'm trying to figure out how to tweak this model into making his 2nd phase look, hopefully I can pull that off and bring you guys that version soon!

Yea its a cool piece but honestly was a bit too steep in price for me personally. I was also saddened that it didn't come with a steel book and the art book was smaller than I would prefer. I miss when they used to make the big hard cover art books. Now you usually just get a digital one or a small 100 page book that just doesn't feel as good to hold.

Can I buy it?
@ninjagillyart2 ай бұрын
Unfortunately there's no way I can put this thing in a box without it breaking, the only way to get it to stand properly was to glue it all together, and it has so many tiny fragile pieces that will 100% break in transit. Most 3D printing resin is very brittle so the little bits like the snake's wings, the spear, the helmet, the fire effects, even the snake won't survive the trip.
