Crazy how the DYI clothes have come back full circle. Before places like Hot Topic came around, we used to make our own clothes, especially from thrift store hauls, and saved up for an expensive piece that helped to pull it all off (corsets, band shirts, etc.) Love the tutorial! Just a tip for any high schoolers or whoever, if you are scared to get/wear Tripp pants bc you’re scared what people will say or your not confident enough, just do it, seriously. I was scared at first well not really scared, but I was expecting people to comment on how “extra” or “stupid” they looked or something, but literally all I’ve got is compliments. Every day (yes I wear them every day😭 the variety of pockets is too good, I can’t go without them now😭) I get compliments, so many. And idk if it seems like I’m bragging or not, but I’m not at all used to being complimented on my clothes, I grew up fat and ugly and wearing plain boring ugly clothes😭😭 it’s wacky as hell to have random ass people that I don’t know say they like my fit or my vibe or some shit. AND YOU’D THINK IT WOULD MAKE ME LESS SELF CONCIOUS… but all it does is make me more confident about how I look, but gives me something else to be self conscious about, THE WAY IN WHICH I SAY THANK YOU. ITS JUST SO HARD TO CHOOSE WHICH WAY TO SAY IT. But it is better to be self conscious about that rather than my clothes tho

You can use coca cola to fix the rust or rust eeze

It means it's copper oxide, or "vert-de-gris" ! I think that's because the metal loops used are either copper that is plated or an alloy with copper inside it. You can clean the rust but you need to then reapply something to protect it ( like a varnish) because otherwise, contact with air will rust the metal again

Damn! I have never paid over $60 for Tripp pants. If you're not a DIY sort (for whatever reason, not my business lol I even have my issues with attempting DIY) but check places like Mercari. I bought a used pair of Tripp pants from Mercari for under $50 and got them in a week. Edit: These pants look amazing, though. Sorry forgot to add. Great job!

I found a pair Of Tripp NYC pants in my local Goodwill for $10.00. Their split with black on one side, and green tartan on the other. I had to take them in a little, and buy new straps for them, but they were a great find. Yours turned out amazing.
