not me SCREAMING when you put bread into gravy and I realized this is gonna have not only 2 slices (that's already too much imho) but also 1 more slice AND stuffing with bread. this is Big Bread indeed!

Pro tip is to slightly warm the stuffing and gravy, put stuffing on the sandwich, then pour the gravy over it so that the stuffing/gravy is the moistmaker combo, PLUS you get a bit of a hot/cold contrast if you're into that vibe, and you save the carbs of that third slice of bread.

for what it's worth, the thickness is quite easily solved by gravying the stuffing instead of a third piece of bread, which is what i do with my thanksgiving leftovers in a near-identical sandwich, well done

would highly recommend adding green bean casserole to the sandwich! if you make it right it's a flavorful counterpoint to the other foods and it feels nice to have some sort of vegetable.

Wow, I have never seen cranberry sauce in a tiny jam jar! The "bears no resemblance to real food" form of cranberry sauce we have in the US comes in a what my people call a "can" and you're people call a "tin", and when it slides out, it is shaped like the inside of the can - a wobbly cylinder with little stripes around the top and bottom (but it's on its side, so the top and bottom of the can are now the front and back of the sauce cylinder). Do a Google image search - you'll either be fascinated or horrified, maybe both!

Years ago, some friends of mine invented Friendsgiving, where you have a feast with your friends on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This means that A) people who are having Thanksgiving with their families will still be able to come to their friends house, they won't have to miss it B) people who couldn't be with family on Thanksgiving don't have to be lonely and sad because they will be embraced by their friends a few days later C) people who don't really like the idea of Thanksgiving per se can still enjoy a feast with their friends and D) anyone who has way too many Thanksgiving leftovers can bring them to Friendsgiving to share with an appreciative audience. It seems that in more recent years, lots of other people have independently invented their own versions of Friendsgiving. You have discovered what may be a new form of Friendsgiving - where you aren't that into the idea of Thanksgiving, but you do really like creating recipes based on Friends!

Sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes and green bean casserole absolutely can go into a thanksgiving leftover sandwich - they add the je ne sais quois of a classic thanksgiving to something that is otherwise just a Christmas dinner sandwich

If the concept of sweet potato casserole with marshmallows doesn't appeal to you, same. There is a slightly less common but still well established version of sweet potato casserole that has a pecan topping instead, which I personally think is much better, though I understand some people feel very passionate about the marshmallows.

Too much butter?! Sacrilege! Since I am vegetarian but not vegan, and mashed potatoes are my favorite element of a Thanksgiving dinner, my housemate used to make epic mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving. She put so much butter in them that we started to call it "mashed butter". There was also heavy cream. And truffle oil. Then I would re-enact that scene from Red Dwarf Bodyswap...

Wait until after Thanksgiving and pick up a frozen Tofurky or a Field Roast Celebration Roast on extreme post-Thanksgiving sale. Vegan gravy is included in the package.
