I made some splits with emergency queens. How did it go?

Here while checking my queens to see if they took i discovered the old queen was in this split and the colony below made emergency cells.

Sometimes it is the roll of the dice. Not great results but it easily could have been better results. Half the fun of bees is trying something different to see how it will work. Thanks for the video Randall. I suppose you will be harvesting next month

Thank you Russell, I am planning on harvesting in mid june this year. It will be much less than last year. I am thankful for what i get and the extra time to work on and learn queen rearing.

Thanks for the update. It is good to see that your girls are building on up an if anyone can get it done it will be you . I like your bee keeping technique. How many calories have you got now ??. THANKS

Thank you Kathy, at the lowest point back in spring i got down to 18, i know have 38 colonies and 21 queens in incubator. will be getting splits ready over weekend for these queens.

I have had a lot of trouble getting virgin queens to get back. Have several queen less now that i have just put frames of good eggs and new hatched eggs in and hope for the best. Just started grafting a few to try to get a few queen's for late splits.

I have noticed this year that most new queens are taking quite a bit longer to start laying than normal. some 3 weeks or a little longer even.

At 13:20 there appeared to be a supercedure cell about 4" from your left hand.

it does from the camera angle but it was actually an old used queen cell and is empty in the video. i should have cut it out.
