I would consider myself a “good cook,” but for some reason I cannot get homemade dressing right. It’s either too slimy, too hard, too dry, the edges get over cooked, etc. I don’t know why I can’t get it right?!
@ArdentMichelle Жыл бұрын
@@brightpurpleviking How do you like it? Maybe the trick is to watch it like a hawk when it's cooking. You can always add the foil on top to prevent the edges from getting too dry or hard. We like it kind of dry on top but moist in the middle.

Michelle, you did a great job on the dinner. I agree about the potatoes. Potatoes need to be a show stopper on the holidays. Anything less leaves a void in the experience. As far as your table decor goes, I personally think you nailed it. Maybe you were feeling off on that day. Your videos are inspiring and beautiful to watch. They jump start me when I am discouraged by the ridiculous inflation we all are experiencing. (Nov 2024 is quickly approaching) The tone of your voice, the clear serene space of your kitchen, and the fact you choose to only show the food cooking process and plating truly help me focus on your content. Not seeing your face doesn’t hurt your content at all in my opinion. I also love that you are protecting yourself from others. Yea for you, Michelle. Have a happy thanksgiving. Enjoy your boys/men around the table. I will be looking forward to your next video. BTW, not that it is important, but I am from your neck of the woods. I am now living in N. I used the Fall floral clearance end-cap at Walmart to create my Halloween outfit this year. 😀

Looks delicious! If your gold tray (that had the crackers) is from Dollar Tree, they are marked not food-safe. You shouldn't place food directly on the surface. You probably can use cooking parchment, foil, etc. under the food. They are very nice trays, though. I use them for gift basket "baskets".

Tip, cut the bread a day before cooking. It dries out a bit and absorbs the flavor a better. Dinner looked lovely 😊

Was wishing I would have cut it when it was frozen 😳 So much easier to cut.

Here in the south we make our dressing from semi stale cornbread and definitely add a good amount of sage.

My favorite Stuffing recipe: Stuffing 12 oz. Arnold Stuffing mix (Read ingredients to ensure vegan as some include chicken broth.) 1 flax egg (Combine 1 T ground flax with 3 T water, and let sit to become gooey) 3 T vegan butter 1 onion, diced 2 stalks celery, diced garlic, minced Bell's seasoning or dried sage, thyme, rosemary, seasoned salt, and ground black pepper nutritional yeast 2 c water, heated and combined with 1 t no chicken base Oil or vegan butter a 9” square casserole dish. Add stuffing to large bowl. Add dried spices and nutritional yeast. Saute onion and celery in vegan butter until celery is soft. Add garlic and saute a bit longer. Add this mixture to the stuffing and stir to combine. Add broth slowly while stirring. Add flax egg and stir again. Put stuffing in casserole dish. Bake uncovered at 350oF for 30 min.

I think you did a fabulous job. Everything looks delicious. I really appreciate you getting this out early for us. I know it must’ve been a lot of work to squeeze it in with your hectic schedule. Anytime you wanna share more cranberry recipes I just love cranberries and I’ll be thrilled about that! Looking forward to your next video❤️

Thanks so much 😁 I'm considering doing a video with some Thanksgiving meal items. It would be fun to do more with cranberries.

Your dinner was fabulous and your decor is always beautiful. I really wish you would add a tea, or punch to your budget meals. Because, in my opinion a meal is not complete without a nice drink. Thanks 😊

Thank you 😁 I agree that drinks are important to holiday meals. I'll consider this for the next one.

I picked up a jar of that Melinda's habanero jelly at grocery outlet. Can't remember exactly how much but cheaper than the Walmart price. Either way, it's great! I love it on baked brie.

I've noticed a TON of Melinda's products all over lately. I've only ever known them for produce, but I wonder if they are branching out into shelf stable products because they can use their produce in them that otherwise wouldn't meet the quality stores require for sale. Anytime we go through huge economic shifts it makes me wish I had taken classes in finance, etc. so I could make better sense of what's going on 😅

This looks deeelish! The price of turkey at Thanksgiving is ridiculous. I will most likely be making chicken this year as well.

Aldi has butterball turkeys for $1.25 a pound.
@ArdentMichelle Жыл бұрын
@@reniedavisson8532 that's similar to the price at Walmart right now ($1.28) so about $18.34 for the smaller ones.
