Your work always makes me feel happy. I like that you present things in an approachable way, and with a touch of humor. And for some reason, this project especially made me smile because it reminded me of what my grandma, who was a music teacher, tried to teach our family: that music is something humans do, and anyone can be musical. You're talented, but generous with your skills and it's just really nice.

This is just awesome. And the music you play on them is really great. I used to turn my nose up at PVC flutes, favoring natural wood, bamboo, etc. However, over the past few years I have purchased several pvc flutes (a Doug Tipple Irish flute, a fujara, a Viking style "bone" flute, and a few others---I really love them.

I made a 65mm pseudo-Fujara using this method *Blows into a side chamber before going into the stopper and fipple and thus is played like a side-blown flute. The range of sounds it can make is astonishing. Thanks for the inspiration!

Very impressive to do the series, bass on up chromatic. Of course there there is that natural harmonics vs. that darned equal tempered stuff. A good sample set has to have both. I like what I hear. Could be set to velocity of midi note for the family of harmonics. EWI or just a Clavinet wah funk hitting all the notes.

Awesome. The factory where I work, they had these huge water drain pipes and wondered how big a flute can a human play? I mean these were huge, like 10 or 15cm diameter. Thinking a leaf blower might be needed to blow air into it :) .

Hi, Nicolas Love your flutes; lesson and your work. I wonder if I could ask you a technical question!? Simply; if I have a flute that plays really well; and I cut the tube off the flute! So; all I know have is the sound part and about two inchs of pipe in front of where the sound is generated and comes out! If I now blow through the very shortened section (and, again, this is where the sound is generated) ... if I blow through this, will I get a sound ... !? The reason that I ask is that; I have built a 34'' Contrabas flute; the long tube is finished, but not connected to the sound part, but, for the life of me, I cannot get any sound out of the sound part! I would have thought you could create sound through the sound part with it disconnected to the tube part ... !? Hope you can help on this one, as I am now completely stuck ... ! Best wishes ... William (Hampshire UK)
