Ey I can play trombone. You might wanna try making it with smaller diameter pipe, and I would look up the length of pipe in a normal trombone. I'm normally a tuba player so I know that my tuba has like 18 feet of tubing. I bet if you made it more specific you could make it really good. My friend has a plastic trombone and he loves it.

Yeah but like you do understand how that's not a trombone at all, right? That's a pipe in which you make a noise with your mouth and adjusting the length doesn't affect anything. An actual trombone will change its note according to the position of the sliding bit. So no, you didn't make a PVC trombone, you made a PVC sliding pipe in the shape of a trombone.

Making a comment now in 2022, I think that if you had made a mouthpiece, the sound would come out clearer, maybe over time until today you have already made one, just a glove with different measurements, where the mouth fits, so it I would have done better to be able to blow. Just an opinion, and after almost 5 years, I believe you have already done this, but this idea of yours was very good.

I think the right-angle joins are a big detriment to the whole thing, though I know that's part of the fun. A standing wave really wants to be let be. Rounded edges can trick it into thinking that it's doing that. And of course a smaller diameter limits the range of frequencies that will... stand and wave? Standing wave joke, not good from any perspective but I typed it regardless. Anyway, if you used narrower conduits and found a bendable hose that would round out those corners, you might get a more "trombone" sound. But then it wouldn't be a "PVC trombone", so I get it. This video wasn't a question, so my "answer" is unsolicited. I like it Picasso. There were just other words I wanted to type.

4:19 - The correct answer is "Also sprach Zarathustra" by Richard Strauss.... The tune was also used in Space Odyssey, and that could be done, since the tune is in the public domain now. Sorry, since I like classical music, I guess I'm a bit more punctual on that one, especially since a lot of people do not even believe when I say that is a classical piece written by one of the three Strausses.

If you did the math for the tubing and added a tuning slide you definitely could make it work better. You could essentially make a p-bone sort of deal and use metal stockings to bore out the slide to a more or less sufficient fit. (After milling it to a near fit). If you're feeling really adventurous you could take a shot a bending some brass. It would be an awesome challenge to see you take. Fittings with curved corners would allow for a better playing experience making it less nasally. The most important part in any horn instrument is the horn part! The bell you made approximated what one looks like. The closer you can make it shaped like the real deal the more like the real deal it will sound. Please make a V2!
