I wouldn’t say it’s better, but it’s good for using more elements from the games (ORAS, Dexio and Sina, Xerneas and Yveltal, AZ). I do miss the Zygarde storyline, but I understand why it was cut. How would they fit it in between this ongoing story, especially after it was revealed later? One thing I do appreciate is giving Alain a more antagonistic role as well as giving him a direct connection to Sycamore. I’m sure seeing him in the main anime was really hype for people who were watching the Mega Evolution specials, but to me, he was just some rando who showed up. With this, he’d still be kind of a rando, but he at least is a rando with a connection to a character we already know. He’s much more intimidating this way, but you also feel for him. Overall, a unique retelling of the original XY series with liberties that I appreciate were taken.

Whether this is canon or fanmade, the XY series is definitely one of the best seasons of the anime, no questions asked. Though while the XYZ portion of the series didn't follow the games, it was still one of the best final seasons of all time.

I think the biggest missed opportunity the XY anime or the whole show ever did was not implementing a proper female rival for Ash. In the BW anime, I felt they missed out on making Hilda not only a companion but a really great rival for Ash. In the XY series, I felt they should’ve scrapped the majority of the useless filler episodes and some of the other side characters that served no purpose and have Astrid being a recurring character and a supporting rival for Ash. It would make sense because her Mega Absol would be a great way to develop Ash’s character arc in the Kalos region a lot more and will motivate / inspire him to get his own mega evolution stone. Granted while I’m glad he got himself a Mega Lucario in Journeys I found it kinda disappointing that he didn’t get one prior to that.

THIS VERSION OF ALAIN SHOULD'VE BEEN THE RIVAL IN THE X AND Y GAMES! however, i would add a few things about him (game-wise): 1. his starter and outfit would depend on your kanto starter (if he has charizard his mega would be the opposite one of what you can get in your game), 2. he would work for team flare and also beat diantha before you reach her, making him champion and also having the team flare stuff happen after you beat the league, AND 3. YOU CAN NAME HIM WHATEVER YOU WANT BECAUSE WE NEED MORE NAMEABLE RIVALS!

I am glad I decided to stick with your series throughout the XY series, since I was hoping you would fix the biggest problem it had; the one everyone complains about and stopped it from being perfect. And you did not disappoint. I had my doubts for a while, since honesty, your version of Ash mastering Ash-Greninja was a bit of a letdown and it didn't feel like he earned his final badge. But thankfully by the time the League rolled around all my doubts were put to rest. You not only let Ash win, you actually improved Alain's story to make him a dark parallel to Ash. And Ash keeping Greninja and winning a battle with Gary's Electivire was the final cherry on top.

I just watched the anime and I really enjoyed it (but not as much as Sun & Moon), X & Y was a great series where Ash nearly had his first league victory but it also had the worst Pokémon episode ever made (where Ash releases his Greninja). I can see why fans were upset about Ash losing the final round of the Kalos league to Alain (his main rival in Kalos) and deciding to release his ace partner (next to Pikachu), but the series also focused on the close relationship between Ash and Serena (the first girl Ash met before the original series) where it made me realize that she is the perfect girl for him (when she kissed him at the end of the series) and I also discovered Sawyer as my favorite Pokémon rival. I can't wait for the completion video of the Sun & Moon series coming up, but I wish you would describe more about every match in the Alola league instead skipping some of them.

I Just Finished the video; Amazing work. I'm not gonna lie about this Spoiler Alert, I kinda wish Team Rocket had of been allowed Oh allowed to stand along side Ash and Alon, Clemont and Diantha against LyXandre and Team Flair Even with team rocket aiding Clemont by holding off 3 Team Flair scientists with some Generation Six Pokémon of Jessie and James's own And of course, the third man in this Team Flair vs Team Rocket triple battle is their talking partner pokemon himself Meowth And Team Rocket basically Insist on On being the solid iron wall of defense for Clement and clembot to shut the machine down, Just as they did 3 short generations of Pokémon AGO, so that their Arboc and Wheezing could get the large army of their own respective preevolutions, Ekans and Koffing Away from the Pokémon poacher and his Recently evolved Tyranitar. And just like with Team Rocket when they set Arboc and Wheezing free And held off Tyranitar with just Meowth and their own respective sets of bare hands When we were sacrified to the original team rocket pokemon. Here came to Team Rocket once again acting as a solid iron wall in order for us the audience to say goodbye to someone we watched two different anime's of story getting attached to, this time it being us saying goodbye alongside Clermont to Clembot
