Yeah fogged himself even says, after the level one trade there was nothing hwei could do. His choices were to stay back and lose xp or to walk up, die and lose the xp anyways. Can maybe make the argument that he should have died to try and get level 2 but that probably would have ended just as bad

For those curious about what that poor Hwei was supposed to do: When you cannot be in lane grabbing XP (and hopefully gold), don't be in lane at all. You might as well be standing in your fountain, if you aren't soaking XP. You are safer there, so technically it'd be better than going to lane and hanging so far back that you are just "easy pickings" for any dive the enemy team wants to make. Instead, go find XP on other lanes. Your teammates will get angry if they don't understand why you are there, but if they don't understand why you are there then they aren't going to be useful teammates to you because they don't understand that LoL is a team game where you help each other. Be useful in those lanes. Soak the needed XP, but as soon as you are able to contribute you must push the enemy laner off of some of their XP/gold to make up for what you are taking from your teammates. You can also take a jungle camp from your jungler, as part of your effort to get yourself back in the game -- but I don't recommend this, as your jungler needs that XP pretty badly to semi-defend the lane you had to abandon. At a certain point, even though you are behind, you'll have leveled up enough to return to your lane. You won't be able to fight, but you'll be able to defend your tower from pushes and can walk forward to soak up XP without immediately dying. Use what gold you do have to buy defensive items -- your job at this point is to be a damage soak for your team, absorbing as much as you can and making yourself a target for the enemy in team fights. You are no longer building optimally for DPS or burst, as if you'd had a good laning phase. Have an item chosen for games like this -- I recommend Warmog's Armor as your default, if you can't find a better one. With some luck you can go Warmog's Armor, into a health + AD/AP item, into AD/AP items later to start dealing damage again. Tryndamere's ultimate is the best tower diving ability in LoL, if you do not have cc to trap him under your tower. So if you get against him and fall behind like this, make sure to hold your cc and not to miss when you do use it. Good defense against Tryndamere will make him wish he'd taken Cleanse, which Tryndamere players almost never bother with. You can hold your against him even from behind as long ad you have cc. If you don't have any, I'd argue that you don't belong in top lane on said picks -- because Tryndamere and some other dangerous tower dive champions exist there, and you aren't guaranteed to hold your own in lane against them. You have to be so good on picks with no cc that you are absolutely and literally 100% certain this game won't be your game. Otherwise you have thrown the game in champ select. I miss Yuumi's old ultimate. I could beat Tryndamere with my Yuumi top, by holding my ultimate to cc him if he tried to dive me. If he tried to fight me I could absorb some of it with passive+E. Build was Berserker's Greaves + BotRK + Frozen Heart, usually into old Kraken Slayer after that if the game went long. Yuumi had enough range to poke at Tryndamere pretty relentlessly, and could pull minions toward her own tower that way if Tryndamere wouldn't engage and eat minion aggro himself. Very winnable trades, and if my jungler saw how I was picking fights it was easy ganks by popping my ultimate to trap Tryndamere and keep him from just spinning away. Didn't work every game, but it almost always worked well enough that my Yuumi was way better in late game fights than Tryndamere could be. Now that Yuumi's ultimate is just a really miserable slow, it's not so easy to fight Tryndamere and I'd never choose Yuumi into him. Probably instead, Blitzcrank. Easy instant wave-clear with the ult, knock-up>pull>knock-up to ride out Tryndamere's ult without taking a ton of damage, and absolutely more useful late game than Tryndamere by hook-fishing for a pick. High cc pick so even if I lose lane I can just armor up to eat tower aggro and be a stun-bot for the team. Or if I'm looking to still play a healer, Nami with bubble and ult has the most cc to negate Tryndamere's ultimate... except I don't like to play Nami, so Bard probably. The real counter of course is just to play Tryndamere myself. =P
