So, I'm eastern europian, and I grew up on Baba Yaga tales! Here's some info you might not get from translated sourses: - Baba literally means Granma, but was also used in refferring to an old, wise women, and Yaga is a name for dog fur fur coat. So Baba Yaga is an old (witchy) lady in a weird furcoat - In tales Baba Yaga is a guardian between the realms of living and dead. One of her legs is bony, not just long, but mummified, it's like she has steppen into the grave already - There actually are three Baba Yagas! The older sister is the wisest, but the youngest is the kindest. Sometimes in tales girls become apprentases of Baba Yaga to become a wise witch and to eventually take place as a young Baba Yaga, when the oldest one moves on the spirit realm completly - The Chiken Leg Hut is based on a funeral tradition. If a person passed away in winter, when the groung was way too cold to dig a grave, the body was put away in a wooden hut on stilts far into the woods. And as the tale goes, Baba Yaga came to live there to help the soul reach the afterlife She is a scary, bur facinating part of folklore, you represented her so well!

Thanks for dropping all this cool info! The story of Baba Yaga is so rich, and it’s awesome to hear it from someone who heard them first hand. I pinned your comment so everyone can get some bonus stories 😉 And thank you so much for the wonderful complement🥰

I GOT TO BE IN AN ANNIEBELLE VIDEO EEEEEEEEEEE!!!! I love how we'll never be 100% happy with our projects. I think the overall effect and visual concept was executed beautifully. You looked like Baba Yaga floatin around in her lil mortar and your legs legit looked like chicken legs, even without the shoes. I LOVED this so much and can't wait to rewatch it 100x while I'm making my house for inspiration and guidance

This is so cool! I really like Baba Yaga and her chicken hut so 10/10 from me. I have a model of her house sitting around waiting for me to paint it so maybe this is a sign that I need to get on that.

I love it! The chicken pants are amazing and the house turned out so well! I really appreciate the attention to detail by having smoke come out of the chimney. Next time you want to make chicken feet, I recommend orange socks to pull over your shoes and attaching fabric cones to the sides of them, stuffed with batting or scraps. 😅

I will definitely keep that in mind next time I make chicken feet😆 I’d like to say it won’t happen again but if it happened once…

Your method for making the hood was such a mood 🤣 I still really want some lounge wear chicken trousers too, they look like the funnest way to spend a day off. LOVEEED the reveal! I can’t believe you got fog and smoke too, it looked great 🖤 (also that last blooper had me rolling😂)

I was genuinely mad at them for scaring me! like for a while 😆 Chicken pants are fabulous for wearing around the house, unless you have cats. The feathers are too much of a temptation for them

Omg this is amazing!!!! The smoke, the windows, the texture and I think you made it the perfect size! Any smaller and you have looked like a crazy giant coming out the roof 😂. Our Halloween tradition is eating in the dark and watching “scary” movies hiding from trick or treaters 😂. This year we watched Tucker and Dale vs Evil. One of my favourites.

Hiding from trick or treaters🤣 We don't get them where I live currently but my partner insist on buying candy and keeping it by the door incase anyone does knock lol Thank you so much🥰 Your probably right, if it was smaller it might have made it more campy

Remember school projects where you could do pretty much anything? There was that one kid who made something really cool, and you would look at their project in awe while you kicked your stupid poster where you just wrote stuff on it. You are that kid...and I love that I don't have to present my dumb poster project after you....!!! LOL love it!

Great job on this! I think if i was to remake this. I would have tryed to mqke it harder on myself and make fake legs on the roof to have the illusion of Baba riding her house

This was so cool! I really love how you used the egg cartons for stone, the roof shingles are perfect, it just all came together so well! Have you ever read the picture book Babushka Baba Yaga by Patricia Polacco? About a baba yaga who’s a misunderstood protector of children and nature. Great story, great illustrations.

Oooohhhhhh! Yes! Go forth and make thy own Baba Yaga hut with chicken leg socks😎
@EmelieWaldken16 күн бұрын
Idea : wonderfully silly and creative and great Reveal : wonderfully spooky ... but that hut looks nothing like Baba Yaga's hut. You went for a stone or brick house, when Slavic old houses/huts are made of wooden logs. Any painting by Bilibin and similar (like the one you showed first in the video, the one on your wall) shows very clearly that the hut is a Slavic-Nordic Europe type. Especially pole storage huts (which Baba Yaga's is based on) are never built in anything else than logs. Similarly, Baba Yaga would not wear a Sleepy Hollow-like kind of hood, but probably a colourful headscarf, as is quite standard for old Slavic ladies. So for me the concept was super cool but the lack of referencing the appropriate style of both housing and clothing took me totally out of the fairytale aspect. Still creepy and effective, but not really referencing the actual Baba Yaga. My fav part were the chicken pants though.
