You can also keep some Life Shrooms handy. Whacka will use all the bumps to attack in one turn so if you die in the middle of the attack, he will waste the remaining bumps.

Personally I find the more casual runs to add an unnecessary amount of time to a playthrough since you're kinda forced to fight every enemy encounter if you're upgrading stats evenly. BP only runs make the most sense because of how easily you can break the game with the badge system.

tbh 25 hp is all you need with the right badges. Even just 5 hp is good enough if you know what you're doing
