One thing I saw mentioned by people on Twitter was that Boberie used to be the only one who wouldn't fall asleep to Luigi's stories for whatever reason in the Gamecube version, and people headcanon'd that into a character trait that makes sense cause he likes to listen to tales like that. They "fixed" it in the remake so now he falls asleep too.

It really emphasises the connection that is being forged between the Queen's tomb and the rest of the region, and shows that each and every area you've been to is cheering you on(whereas before you could only tell the source of a couple of the messages by their character's speech pattern).

It just kind of gives you something to look forward to as a new player, but in this day and age... it's so hard to avoid having entire games (especially like THIS one) spoiled completely before it even comes out.

They fixed the infamous reversed dialogue when you confront Grodus at the end of the game. (Though this was a mistake exclusive to the English version). Another change is that the fuzzy horde (when you fight the gold fuzzy) and the X-nauts (when you fight Crump after chapter 6) have now their own tattle entry. Before, they counted as a fuzzy or a regular x-naut, so if you tattled them before, then you would already have their heath bar. If the Tattles were wrong in the original, that’s a key indication that the text had those numbers hard-coded in the original and didn’t get updated as difficulty balance changes were made. In the new version, no errors likely meant that they had the stats directly programmed into the text so that it auto-updated if stats were tweaked during production. So for those of you learning programming, remember, never hard-code your numbers! Always use variables.

It's worth considering that the original system might have been non-referential plain text for space purposes. Hammer Throw's nerf was pretty bad. Even if it was very niche in the original, lowering the damage does not make up for the piercing damage. Like what are you piercing at a distance that Piercing Blow can't already hit for full damage? You can already get Spike Shield for the only truly defensive flying enemy in the game (Spiked Parabuzzy) so it's just pointless. And the damage reduction makes it useless against the only real reason I can think of for using it; charged up Ice/Poison Puffs. Pretty unfortunate nerf, even for a badge rarely used.

As a long-time champion regarding the Happy Lucky Lottery Booth, I wanted to mention one of the most random changes to it that caught my eye. In the original, Lucky catching the player changing the clock backwards and forcing the 500 coin fine was confined to just the one save file the player did it on. On my second and third playthroughs of the remake, on different and BRAND NEW files, and before I could even get the first ticket usually at 10 coins, I saw that the lottery was already suspended, Lucky had that fuzzy speech bubble above him, and he still charged 500 coins even though I genuinely didn't do anything to my clock after making the new files. I don't know all the details of getting this potentially permanent issue to one's game data fixed, but keep that in mind if you really want to get the Power Plus & Lucky Day badges from the lottery on repeat playthroughs while also changing your Switch clock back to the correct date afterwards.

even worse part is if you try to equip several Hammer throw badges to increase the power, it only increases by 1 per badge, while quake hammer increases by 2 per badge. it does cost 1 bp but having to grind piantas for the duplicate badges has a much worse payoff for hammer throw than quake hammer.

In the remake, tattle was probably programed differently. Instead of printing hand-typed stats and description, the code probably just detects what enemy you're tattling and prints stats from it's prefab. So it would be print([Enemy.Name], [Enemy.MaxHP ], [Enemy.Attack], [Enemy.Defense], [Enemy.Description], meaning that it wouldn't actually be possible to have typos on the stats.

One weird thing I noticed: They fixed the mistranslation in the Shady Koopa tattle and tattle log that incorrectly said they gain attack power when they get up from their backs... but they didn't fix it for the tattle or tattle log for the Shady Paratroopa.
@gube23584 ай бұрын
One obscure fact is that if you don't tattle the bald clefts in Ch. 1 in that one specific room, they never appear again. And thus is a one-time tattle. I even waited for the trashcan in Frankly's place, but nothing. I have every tattle but that Bald Cleft at this moment. Another thing is that I got softlocked in the Pits of trials around 75. I used Bombery's minibombs on a wizard and Dark Koopatrols, and the game got confused because when the bombs exploded it killed the wizard and the koopas were on their backs, but the attack never resolved. So I was stuck watching koopas on their backs for 10 mins. I tried waiting it out or if the audience would throw something, they never did. Sadly I restarted the pits of Trials and swore not to use the minibombs.

One obscure change is that TEC no longer shows you're on the moon in the first Peach intermission when switching between scenes.
@MAYOFORCE4 ай бұрын
I find it baffling how they got the enemy stat numbers wrong when the JP version has it right but I'm sure it was a case where the English translation was being made while the game was still being worked on and just didn't have all the info in a timely manner. Also I liked the way the old version told you where enemies were native from using a general location rather than the first one you entered. A place like Glitz Pit would attract creatures from all over the world and hearing about far off places from the tattles adds to the tourist aspect. And seeing area names for enemies in the Pit of 100 Trials is a good indicator of how far you've gone. The only locations I wouldn't want to spoil early are the Moon and Palace of Shadow but they're at the very end.

I never see this one get brought up: In the original, you have to take a shower as Peach before TEC opens the door. In this version, TEC opened the door when I walked over to examine it. One interesting thing about the "fog on each side" mechanic is that Bobbery's attack clears enemy fog, of course. But if you're in a large encounter (4-5 enemies) and blow up too close to your own fog, he will accidentally clear that too. So it's not just appeals that can manually clear player fog.
