Hello everyone and thank you so much for watching! Do you meditate? What are your thoughts on the practice?

Hi, interesting video. I have been meditating for 34 years (20 mins twice daily). My observations are: 1. try adding a 2nd session daily 2. it is normal to intellectualise, as you did in the video, but remember intellectualising doesnt make people happy (absence of conscious thoughts is good) 3. it is easier to stay with the daily routine by reminding youself that the benefits are subtle and enormous. 4. if you get a sore back, put something behind your lower back to keep it straight 5. The cross legged position is better (as you did) as it keeps the back straight and hips loose and allows more energy to rise through the spinal area to the brain.

These are some really good points, thank you for sharing! Especially number two I find very important, but I still wanted to communicate verbally some observations for the viewers who are considering meditation.

You still identify with the person like most people. We all make that mistake in each and every dream and each time it takes awakening to (be able to) realize our mistake: you never were the person, you are consciousness in which dreams appear including the dream called life. Meditation is not something you do, it is what you ARE. The person is not who you are, it is something you do. As in any dream

Thanks for the great comment! Indeed, meditation is something you are, but to come to the realisation you need to start with “doing” the meditation. It is not a mistake, but a process. “Person” is a content of consciousness, an idea conceived within the mind, but there is something before it which is aware. To me this is the self, and it is experienced in a preformational state, with identity etc. being additions of fluid nature (significant in their own ways). Beyond this experiential recognition, it seems to me like we are returning to conceptualisation, determining the emergence of consciousness.

@@andromachevoutsa I like your reaction! Although I had to read it several times to understand it (my fault). Here is how I see it: consciousness/awareness (or The Self) is all there is (as in any dream). You either get lost in the dream (identify with the person and consequently you will suffer, nightmares, the works.) OR you realize life is just a dream to be enjoyed, as consciousness playing around, trying to fool you.

This was great 😊 I started meditating again earlier this year. I do it for 20 to 30 minutes five to seven times a day. Doing it for an hour sounds really daunting in comparison, but your video made me want to try. BTW I think the TV analogy is spot on. Rupert Spira uses a similar analogy when he explains the difference between awareness and the activity of awareness.

Awesome that you got back to it! I too find that it's not always a constant in my routines but I deeply enjoy it when it is. Really glad the video made you think of trying longer sessions! Sounds interesting, I'll look into Rupert Spira. Good to know that I'm on the right track with it, thank you for sharing! P.S. personality typology enthusiast over here :D

Each time I watch your videos I say to myself “this is the most anything has ever resonated with me”. I recently challenged myself to meditate everyday, for as long as the guided meditation lasted, for 12 days. I’m currently on day 16. I have mostly been “failing gloriously” in keeping my concentration and getting lost in thought BUT I come back everyday. 😅 just to keep the promise😏

Hi Olga, it is natural to wander off into thoughts, in fact its part of the process, eventually you will get back (back to the mantra or breathing awareness [depending on the method you are using]).

Im sure there are no benefits at all, but just a waste of time. Isn’t it enough that you throw away 1/3 of your life sleeping...

Did you watch the video or just dump a comment projecting your opinions on meditation and dip? Also it’s literally scientifically proven that meditation can slow your brain aging, so it’s actually the opposite of a waste of time. It helps you gain time/life in the long run. Do you even research things or think before you speak? Here’s one of many sources that say meditation can lead to slower brain aging: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5447722/
