I’m very sad that 20 were killed in Yellowstone in 2021. It’s so sad. They and Buffalo were everywhere over 150 years ago, and now, they barely roam even a quarter of the land that they used to.😔 My parents had the privilege of seeing a whole pack in Yellowstone 20-30 years ago during a limited winter opening where snowmobiling was allowed. I’ve been there 3 times with no such luck.😭

Wolves in the USA were reintroduced into Yellowstone National Park and proved a vital part of the ecosystem. Elk were overpopulated and overgrazed river and creek beds causing them to erode. With fewer trees, fewer songbirds could be found. With the erosion, beavers moved on. Wolves helped restore the balance. This is well-documented and a interesting to read up on. Wolves are awesome!

So beautiful. I hope they all live long and prosper. Thanks to gentle caring human beings instead of psycho hunters that look for any reason to kill things. This jsut shows me we still have a little hope that some human beings still are capable of great things.

The wolf is an amazing creature. Imagine if the wolf would have got extinct in the far past. There would be no dogs either. Everybody today would have pet rabbits and cats instead, running all fking around, multiplying, getting stuck or road killed all over the place, devestating crops, eating car wires ruining insurence and chewing power cables causing never ending power failures and so spreading a constant smell of toasted rabets inside and outside everywhere theres grass or flowers.. . . I think im glad the wolf survived.. We agree pedegree?

What talking about? Wolfs are a protected species on the endangered species list and can't be hunted without permission of the federal government. You don't know what the hell you're talkin
@caniswolf33942 жыл бұрын
@@eod9910 First off, I don't appreciate you speaking to me as if I'm an idiot, because I am very far from it. Second, if you knew anything at all you would know that the former U.S. president Obama removed the federal protection act during his first year in office and they have not been reinstated by any president since !! There are several states that still have LEGAL hunting of Wolves !! Recently, one state set a hunting limit on the number of Wolves that were allowed to be killed in their upcoming hunting season, and the number of Wolves killed was almost double the allowed number in the first few weeks !!!! If anyone here is ignorant of the Endangered Species Protection Act for Wolves, it's YOU !!! Don't jump down someone's throat about something you are so egregiously ignorant of !!!

These are magnificent creatures. They form a vital component in the predator chain. Only by their reintroduction into the forests and hillsides can the natural balance of nature begin to be restored. No, they're wolves. They are beautiful. They are magnificent. They are intelligent. But they are wolves. The last mistake you will ever make will be to underestimate these animals.
@hherroyal05 Жыл бұрын
@@gregfawcett4043 Thank you for responding so eloquently! Wolves are to be respected, exactly because they are NOT dogs. Wolves are completely different from dogs, aside from their DNA strain. I love dogs, precisely because they love humans and are so protective. Dogs have gone through hundreds of thousands of years to evolve into our pets. Dogs are the most devoted pets, and will often fight to the death to save their human (who is the leader of their pack). As Annika said, a wolf that trusts humans is rare, and could also be a concern if ignorant humans are around and could shoot them. Wolves will only eat meat, unless there is nothing else and it is starving. Which means that we are on the menu, too, in those circumstances - they are apex predators. When they have pups, they actually regurgitate food they've eaten so the pups can have "baby food". They also will actually eat the weakest of the pack, pup or not. They pee and poop in order to mark their territory, and no one can make them wait to "go outside for a walk". They often fight viciously to be the leader of the pack. And obviously from story tales, wolves have a huge terrifying "smile" and have a far stronger bite force than a dog's. Yet with all of that, as you wrote, they are gorgeous and magnificent creatures and they should remain wild animals and be allowed to live they way that nature intended.
