Hi Joe, great video. I think those of us who spend any time in the bush trapping or hunting or fishing when the snow comes and starts to build has had an episode like you had. I had a similar situation in where I thought ok I can make that shirt up hill distance and have things go north in the blink of an eye. Good on you for finding the solution and following through to get your truck and trailer out. This is the type of video that draw me and other people to your channel, honest and true experiences as a trapper. Cheers MT

Wood ashes works good for traction also Joe I always throw my wood stove ashes on my drive way in winter and come spring the ashes sort of disappear , into the road , but right size chains would of got you out without a problem , and still time to get trailer out if someone gets you the right chains in time before the snow gets hard and to deep ,

Get in touch with Bob from jackman, I believe. You and I spoke previously during a live stream about how he subcontracts all of his snowshoe building to Charleston correctional facility. (Yes I’ve spent time there. Yes I battled addiction for 20+ yrs. But here I am, nearly 8yrs free with a moderately successful construction business of my own. Save the hate….please) I can’t remember bobs last name but he’s very well known. He donates all proceeds from the snowshoes to pine tree camp and special Olympics. He also does a ton for wounded warrior project. I’m sure someone in this comment section knows him. He’s got a guide service around the jackman/Rangely area. He can certainly set you up with the oversized shoe that I built a jig for about 10yrs ago
